Up for sale: 2001 Lincoln LS 187,000 miles. Either needs a transmission or transmission fluid. Rear driver door does not open. Airbag light is on and cruise control does not work. Power windows and locks along with sunroof all work. Interior is in good condition. Has inspection good til December 2016. Will need tires in the near future. Back to the transmission. I was driving to work and the car just stopped accelerating. I stopped and put it in 3rd gear. Car drove fine until I stopped a mile later. When I went to drive car again it would not drive in any gear including reverse. I went to check the transmission fluid and that’s when I discovered you have to take it to a shop and put it on a lift. You just can’t add fluid to it. I had the car towed home and it’s been there since. So I don’t know if it’s fluid or the transmission. Car drove fine until then with no signs up slippage.
