1964 Corvair Monza spyder convertible (Does not have turbo's - I have had alot of questions about the engine not having turbo's and I dont know if the engine is a spyder or not, but it does not have turbo's.). This corvair is a daily driver. In the past 5 years this car has had over $6000 in upgrades. The convertible top has been replaced, all seats and door panels have been recovered. Shocks have been replaced the front end has been slightly lowered. Tires and brakes are good. Complete wiring harness has been replaced. Fuel tank and sender has been replaced. Alot of the door seals and window seals were replaced. The instrument panel has some custom wood trim with clocks and compass which could be removed if you want the stock look back We believe the engine was rebuilt at some time because the inside of engine is very clean and it does not smoke out the tail pipes. We have replaced all the push rod tube seals and valve cover gaskets, but there is still a minor oil leak around the oil pan. The paint job is fair, by no means is it show quality but still looks ok as a daily driver. To make this car really nice, someone would need to give it a fresh coat of paint. I am not going to list every flaw on the body because it is not perfect. The car is rust free except on the lower rocker panels under the doors. For its age I think its ok, and I believe the car has been in Southern California most of its life. The engine runs smooth and transmission shifts fine. The tachometer was not working, may have a loose wire. This car has a clear California title with a currant vintage black license plate. This car does not need a smog but if you are in California, you will need to pay sales tax when you transfer the title.
