Powered  by the 6.6-liter Duramax turbo-diesel V-8, which is backed by an Allison  six-speed automatic transmission and 397 hp and 765 lb-ft of torque. It  has B20 biodiesel capability, B20 fuel is a blend of 20-percent biodiesel and  80-percent conventional diesel, which helps lower carbon dioxide emissions and  lessens dependence on petroleum. The Duramax 6.6L improves on an already  low-noise reputation with double-pilot injection, a strengthened block and, in  some conditions, lower rail pressure, contributing to a nearly 30-percent  improvement in noise at the engine level. A 30,000-psi (2,000 bar) piezo-actuated  fuel injection system – capable of operating on ASTM grade B20 biodiesel –  ensures more precise fuel delivery, improving emission performance and playing a  crucial role in reducing high-speed noise, vibration and harshness. Safety features include dual front airbags,  head-curtain airbags that automatically inflate when sensors sense a severe  impact to provide extra protection in the event of a rollover or secondary  collision, driver and front-seat passenger side-impact air bags, anti-lock  brakes, StabiliTrak electronic stability control with rollover mitigation  technology, and tire-pressure monitoring.
