Vehicle Detail

Are you tired of restoring cars and having more invested than the finished value? Here’s your chance to buy a project worth doing. You are looking at my 72 Chevelle convertible project. I rarely sell cars from my collection. Only reason I’m selling this (and a 57 Nomad project) is to buy another car I’ve got my eye on. This car started out life as a 350, bench seat AT Malibu with A/C. It was never wrecked and a fairly solid car all of its life. At one point, a previous owner was going to turn it into a 70 SS and sold off the front end. That owner lifted the body off the chassis (around 10 to 12 years ago), sand blasted, painted and rebuilt all the suspension, brakes (disc up front) and steering (it still needs brake and fuel lines run). I got it a few years ago with intentions of building a 72 SS454 clone. I collected a lot of hard to find, expensive parts for the build. Included in the sale of this car is: NEW REPRODUCTION FRONT AND REAR BUMPERS currently covered in wax to protect them. ENTIRE A/C FRONT CLIP FROM A 71 core support, radiator, shroud and A/C condenser solid and complete. Fenders shot. PAIR OF REPRODUCTION FRONT FENDERS very light storage marks, never installed. PAIR OF REPRODUCTION INNER FRONT FENDERS nice REAL GM FUCTIONAL COWL INDUCTION HOOD with vacuum pod to make it work. ALL NEW BODY BUSHINGS REPO 72 HEALIGHT BEZELS AND A FEW SS EMBLEMS CORRECT STANDARD SS STEERING WHEEL CORRECT HEADREST BUCKET SEATS solid cores ORIGINAL 72 GM SUPER SPORT DASH BEZEL with the fasten seat belts light. Real GM, not a reproduction or a Monte dash. Contains original lighter, switches, A/C vents and ash tray. The back of the radio knob holes need repair. Otherwise, no cracks or repairs. On a scale of 1 to 10, it’s an 8. CORRECT BLUE HUE 72 AM/FM RADIO w/ correct knobs NEW REPRODUCTION OER GM GAUGE PACKAGE with all gauges, tach, clock, speedometer, gauge housing and circuit board. REMANUFACTURED WIRE HARNESS for under dash gauge package. 1974 454 ENGINE from a low mileage pickup. Ran fine when pulled 3 years ago. I’ve also got the correct 72 intake, carb, exhaust manifolds, pulleys, brackets and everything to make the A/C work. CORRECT STYLE 15 x 7 SS WHEELS actually from a 78 Z/28 What does this car still need? Each door needs a little work in the bottom corners (bottom of shells are solid). There were new ¼ panels put on the car. They are solid but some of the mud work up around the back window needs re-done. Also looks like some filler in the rear corners (pictured). The trunk floor has a few rust spots and the rear floor area was crudely patched. The front floors are solid. As for the front end. You’re getting a mix of reproduction and solid original GM parts. Currently, the body is not fastened to the chassis. The old bumpers need replaced with the new ones included. There’s no transmission or drive shaft. Needs a grill and 72 parking lights. The brake lines and fuel system need finished. Needs convertible top and all the interior replaced. All the seat frames and springs are solid. All glass is good. Rear is 10 bolt open. The black stereo dash pad is nice. SUMMARY: You would be starting out with a fairly solid base and 75% of the parts you need to clone a SS454 ragtop with working GM A/C. I feel if you invest another $15K into this, you’ll have a $30K clone (a car worth more than you’ve got in it). We all saw Barrett Jackson the other week. In the right market place, car could do even better. Because of all the loose parts, I can’t deal with a hauling company. You will need to show up with a truck (to haul loose parts) and a trailer. I am located 40 miles north east Harrisburg just 1 mile off exit 104 off I-81. Pine Grove Pa zip 17963 Dave at 570-527-3450
