Vehicle Detail

You are looking at a 1960 Chevy C10 Apache pickup truck. Is titled 1961. This is a great little truck that needs some work. Currently inspected to 8/15, you can drive and enjoy while you fix. Engine is a low mileage 1971 Chevy 307. It has new bearings, oil pump, double roller timing chain and valves seals. The flat top pistons are the original standard bore. I added a set of 1974 #882 cylinder heads with 1.94/1.50 valves, fresh valve seals, a Summit hydraulic 2.48 lift cam shaft, aluminum intake, Holley 600 4bbl, HEI distributor and a set of headers. The mufflers are 3” dirt modified style. This truck is loud and obnoxious. Please note the unique ram air setup we created using the vents in the hood as air intakes. The clutch is a factory 11” hydraulic unit. The Trans is a M20 Muncie 4 speed. Shifter by Hurst. It does jump out of 4th gear when you not on the gas. The rear is a newer (67-72 style) 12 bolt truck rear with 4.10 open (not posi). This truck does get up and go. It will burn the tires through 3 gears if needed but when driven sensible, it ain’t too bad on gas. Truck always runs cool and holds great oil pressure but does blow some blue smoke every once in a while. The body has rust and needs a lot of work but ain’t as bad as some trucks I’ve seen for sale. The hood has holes in all 4 corners. The bottoms of the front fenders need replaced. The bottoms of the doors are also rusted through. The rockers and floors need replaced. There’s also pin holes in the head liner near the windshield but currently does not leak. The cab corners need a little work but surprisingly, the cab mounts are solid (a good thing). The box, steps, tailgate and rear fenders are 90% solid, original metal but a little beat up. There is a steel plate in the bed floor. Glass is OK. All the lights and wipers work but I will say the wiring is a “rats nest”. This truck should be re-wired. There are no keys. When you turn the ignition switch, it starts without the key in it??? The seats are out of a 4th gen Camaro and are power. All the rubber is good. Rear wheels are 8” truck ralleys with dog dish caps screwed on. The original rear wheels go with. The truck drives fair for a 55 year old truck but the steering is a little sloppy and the brakes are just…… ok. It will easily survive a 100 mile trip home but is geared a little low for the interstate. A great little hot rod truck with cool patina. These 60 & 61 Apaches are really going up in value. A good investment at the right time to buy one. I hate to sell it but have too many toys. The money from this sale is going to fix a 71 GTO that was damaged by hurricane Sandy.
