Vehicle Detail
Thank you for viewing my 1999 Jeep Cherokee Limited. Purchased as our second family car and used as my daily driver – great around town, on the highway (see video)http://youtu.be/coqvstDIC9A , and amazing in the winter snow. The birth of our 4th child makes fitting into this SUV tough – sad to see it go, but we need a third row. Jeep treated with care and maintained well during my ownership. Here is a list of worked I’ve done and have receipts for: 4 new BF Goodrich All Terrains Fuel Pump Assembly replaced (located within fuel tank) Power steering fluid flushed (3/9/14) Front & Rear Differential fluids changed (9/13/13) Transfer Case & Transmission fluids changed (5/12/13) Cooling system updated: new radiator hoses, new water pump, new thermostat, new fan clutch, new electric fan, all fluids flushed Air conditioner Compressor replaced and system recharged (blows ice cold) Updated factory radio with auxiliary plug connection. New serpentine belt, spark plugs, wires, cap & rotor Front brakes and rotors (5/10/13) Replaced drag link assembly, new tie rod ends, and alignment Towing package added I must also mention the following - First, the passenger side front window does not go up or down. I can hear the motor work, but nothing happens. No smokers in our home, so never a concern. http://www.steigerperformance.com/dif.cgi?SP12001. This is probably where I would start. Second, the front speakers crackle. I just used the balance adjustment for the rear speakers. Third, the power seats and heated front seats stopped working about 6 months ago. I did test if power was making it to the fuse, so the relay is good (see picture). Since it all seemed to go at one event, I can only assume it’s a bad connection somewhere after the fuse box. I never took the time to dig into it. These items will NOT be fixed prior to the sale of the Jeep. Please keep that in mind when deciding to bid. I have a clean CT title for this Jeep and will happily transfer ownership once payment clears. PayPal preferred, cash is OK too. Any other method must fully clear before I release both the Jeep and the title. Bidding is agreeing to buy, so please do not bid unless you plan to purchase this Jeep. Ask first before bidding with 0 or negative feedback. A $500 non-refundable deposit is due within 48 of auction end. The Jeep is sold AS IS – no warranty implied or expressed. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ added description 10/6 - I've receive several questions about the condition underneath. I uploaded some pictures that I hope area a fair representaion, I feel it's in good shape for 1999. Also, I recall running a Carfax report when I bought the Jeep (can't seem to locate it right now) but it was not wreck. I have not had any accidents. Please keep the questions coming if you have them & feel free to contact me if you want to inspect in person - I have several work commitments, but can make time Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ The Jeep Cherokee (XJ) is a compact SUV that was developed and produced by the Jeep division of American Motors, and continued to be built and marketed by Chrysler after 1987. It shared the name of the original full-size SJ model, but without a traditional body-on-frame chassis. With a novel light-weight unibody design,[3] it set the stage for the modern sport utility vehicle (SUV). The XJ's innovative appearance and sales popularity spawned several imitators - most importantly the Ford Explorer - as other automakers began to notice that this model began replacing regular cars.[4] It was built in Toledo, Ohio, in Beijing, China, in Ferreyra, Argentina, and in Valencia, Venezuela. The XJ provided the mechanical basis for the MJ-series Jeep Comanche pickup truck. The XJ Jeep has been described as one of the 20 greatest cars of all time for its design, and "possibly the best SUV shape of all time, it is the paradigmatic model to which other designers have since aspired".[5] Due to its toughness and reliability, the XJ was also selected in 2011 as one of "10 cars that refuse to die" by Kiplinger.[6]
