Up for sale is a 1982 Datsun Diesel King Cab truck. My father purchased this truck new in 1981 in Los Angeles CA. It has a Datsun Diesel motor and a 5 speed manual transmission. The odometer shows 31,000 miles which I believe is correct. He put a heavy fiberglass shell on it. He used the truck for about two years and then got a new truck which he did every two years....he kept most every vehicle he bought and I inherited this truck when he passed away last September. He told me there were 4 new glow plugs in the glove box which I found and he said that was all that was wrong with the truck. I took the truck to my local mechanic who is not familiar with diesel trucks to try and get it started....unfortunately he was unable to get it running. We did remove the gas tank and have it professionally cleaned. He purged the diesel system and put a couple of hoes on. He also put one new glow plug in......in hind site now he should have put all 4 in. The motor turns over freely with a battery attached (no battery in now). I put 5 brand new tires on the truck as they were old and had been sitting for 20 plus years...cost ($650.00)...they have no miles on the tires. The body has some dings and dents, glass all looks good. Interior needs cleaning. Under good on firewall some rust through (see photo). The truck is located in San Clemente, CA and will need to be towed or trailered. The truck is sold as-is where is with no warranty.
