Vehicle Detail
Before you look at the video's please read this complete description as it will tell you the actual status of this car now vs. what you see in the video. This is a 1963 Chevy Nova II straight six cylinder four door sedan car. I purchased this car because I had seen this old episode of Overhaulin where they took a Chevy Nova four door and completely made it over. Here is the link of the episode which provides a great example of what can be done with this car. My Goal was to do an LS1 conversion on this car, then give it a gun metal grey exterior with black interior look. So it would look more modern on exterior, yet make it sleeper for the streets. Also, I wanted a four door to take family and friends with sufficient room. The GOOD things about this car:This car has the majority of it's original parts. The body on the car is very straight, especially when you consider it has over 50 years old. There are no major dent's, and very limited small rust spots. The radio works and all electricalThe car has a kill switch to start it under the floor mat of the drivers seat. It provides for added anti-theft The engine compartment is very clean from the top endThe paint job is decent, it has a few bubble spots, small flakes, and little rust spots. But if you clean it up, it looks decent to the average eye. It's by no means in show condition, but it looks good overall. FYI: It looks like it's be repainted in parts of car. The car has been kept in doors (garage and storage unit) the entire time I've had it since 2011. So it's been well kept ever since I bought it, plus previous owner was part of auto club and he too kept it in doors. All four tires have great tread and are in good shape. The car also has a spare that is in great shape as well. Interior of car, seems to be all original. The seat is super cool feels like your sitting on a coach while your driving. The headliner is in great shape. Car has what looks to be the original inspection sticker on the windshield, very cool unique item. The BAD Things about this car:If you want it in perfect condition, it does have some small rust spots. But I took a body shop class in a community college and they said the prep work on this car is simple due to the condition of the body. Just some simple 80 grid sandpaper, primer and paint will do it. The two front door panels are scuffed up at the bottom, showing tears all along the bottom. This is somewhat of an easy fix. Classic Industries sells them both for under $200, or you can take them to upholstery shop and repair for about $50-$75. I have not driven the car for almost 2 years, and currently it does not start. It's not a big thing, it simply needs a complete tone up and charge the battery or possibly a new battery. The reason I haven't done it myself is due to my new jobs extensive travel schedule. The car has been parked in my storage unit for the entire time for 2 years and it's of course been dripping oil and other fluids. But I would rather sell the car at a lower price (which I've listed) and this would cover the tone up cost and possibly getting a new battery, since I'm only home one day a week and don't have the time to do it myself. But I literally went from driving it every two days, to putting it in storage and not touching it for two years. So I feel confident a quick tone up and new battery would start it right up. I'm allocating $200-$300 (depending on your battery) to get it up and running. Finally, i tried to start it recently and it was about to start, but I didn't think it was a good idea to do so since there was oil and fluids on the floor, so I left it alone. Front windshield has a crack running along the top to bottom on drivers side. The trunk has GM spackle white paint on it, over the actual blue paint. So when you lift the rubber mat, you'll see like a surface rusk spots, this is not "actual rust", you can get it off with a damp towel. Plus it does not penetrate the actual car paint, so it looks worse than what it is. It seems like some how water or moisture once got into it and it wasn't dried off properly. Just realize it's not a rusted trunk, it's simply rust spots over the spackle white paint, if you scratch it off, you can see the original blue paint underneath without any problems.Missing the visor on the passenger side.I purchased the car originally to do some cool things with it, I love driving it because every where I went, I would get looks and thumbs up every time. It was a magnet, with people walking up to it in parking lots to look at it and even kids loving it. Amazing the reaction I would get by driving such a legendary car. I am selling it because I am soon moving to Austin Texas and I need to make a choice of what toys I am going to keep. I don't have the time to devote to making it my LS1 conversion that I wanted to. Plus, I couldn't find anyone locally who can do it for an affordable price. I could find a used LS1 with transmission for $1500, plus wiring harness, AC, and breaks I felt like I could make this a sleeper for less than $2800. But I just don't have the time. Plus, so much of this car is original, that someone who wants to keep it "as is" may appreciate it more and want to keep it in it's original condition. Either way, I think this car for less than $600 can be driven daily. Do the tone up, and replace the breaks from it's original drums and you have a daily driver. For less than $700 you can add air conditioner to it. It will be the buyer's responsibility to pick up the car. I have one set of keys for the car and we can coordinate pickup. I would prefer cashier's check or bank wire prior to pickup of car. If you do a bank wire, it's the best way since it usually takes 24 hours to receive vs. a cashier's check which can take up to 5 days to clear. I will not release the car until the funds have been fully accepted by bank. It's been my favorite car, and I am selling it as an "as is" condition, there are no warranties or guarantees for purchase. I am providing you all the information I know or have of the car. Buyers understand's I am selling "as is" and I am making no claims of the car. It's great for someone like me who likes to tinker with old cars and can do a lot of the work yourself. Great for cruising and driving around town. Plus I love the four door to put family and friends to join you. Here are my two video's below. About three months after I bought it I got a job offer and was leaving town then, so I did these two video's thinking I was going to have to sell it. The job offer fell through and I took it off of ebay. So I apologize for the dumb jokes, but this video will show you the true condition of the car, better than any picture I can supply. The only difference is to remember it's been undriven in 2 years and it's currently not starting. But like I said, tone up and possible new battery and you should be good. One last thing, I put 80,000 miles on it, but I have to check the actual odometer, I believe it's close to what it states.
