Vehicle Detail

Okay, let's try this one more time except without the fraudulent bids. I am relisting this fine truck because the last winning bidder was using someone's account fraudulently according to the account owner. Thanks to those of you that place honest bids and I'm sorry for the mess up. I'll start the auction at the same price as before with no reserve and add a buy it now. The truck is available for viewing in Abilene, Texas. I'll my best to describe the truck but please ask any questions and/or come look at it if you are unsure because the truck is sold as is/where is. The vehicle has spent all of it's life in Big Spring and Abilene, Texas and is virtually rust free. I say "virtually" because I haven't found any rust to speak of but there may be some hidden somewhere that I haven't seen although I've been all over the truck and have had the fenders and running boards off. Obviously the truck is 60 years old. The floor board is solid and is original sheet metal as is all of the truck as far as I can tell except for the hood which looks like it came off of a donor truck at some point in it's life but it fits fine and is correct. All of the sheet metal is solid. The darkness in the picture of the floor board is discoloration from the original floor mat and insulation that was in the truck. A mechanic took that out and discarded it. There are a few dings here and there but nothing major on the body. The tailgate is original but as you can see from the picture has had a piece of metal tacked across it to make the look cleaner according to original owner. The history of the truck is that an acquaintance of mine had inherited it from his father whom he said had purchased it new. I can't verify he bought it new but I do have a copy of registration back to the early 60s in his name so it is likely the story was true. When that owner passed away he passed it down to his son (my acquaintance) and he kept it for many years and it ended up in my possession. It is a rare deluxe cab and even has the original radio although it doesn't work. It has an under dash air conditioner that works that the former owner told me his dad had added in 1957. I had the seat recovered. I had a mechanic replace all the wiring throughout along with all the switches, hoses, fuel tank, wheel cylinders, front brakes, trans cooler lines, ignition coil, water pump, turn signals, and on and on. When I got the truck it did not have a front bumper so I added a new chrome bumper. The rear bumper comes with the truck but looks to be the original which was customized to be heavier duty. I haven't driven the truck on the highway but I spent thousands on it to make certain that it runs and stops right so, at least in my mind all the hard part has been done. I think it would be a great one to drive as is after you added a sharper set of tires or it's a perfect candidate for a show truck with it's solid sheet metal, excellent mechanicals, and rare Fordomatic and Deluxe cab. Thanks for looking at this and please ask any questions you can't tell from the pictures or the write up. If you're looking for something original and solid that has had the non glamorous mechanical work already done on it, this is a good one. It's sold as is, where is in Abilene, Texas.
