Vehicle Detail

NO RESERVE! AM I CRAZY!?!?! My wife thinks so... This is a great 1980 Ferrari 308 gtsi (ZFFAA02A7A0034205 ) I've own since 2007. Rosso Rubino (Ruby Red) in a Boxer Scheme with the lower panels in black -- rare indeed! Starts flawlessly and runs great! Had a full $10,000+ service (details below) in 2009. Ready to drive and enjoy! This is not a garage queen show car, but is one to enjoy and have fun with! This car has been driven much less than I hoped, but it sure is fun to drive! I had a full service and engine rebuild done in 2009 by Ferrari of Washington (documentation included and available on request). The steering column was also rebuilt at this time. This cost me $7,916 for the engine rebuild and $29,47 for the steering rack rebuild along with rebuilding the left rear brake caliper. The clock was also rebuilt and looks/works like new Documents galore, this car includes the ORIGINAL WINDOW STICKER! Good luck finding another one. The window sticker shows a list price of $54,865. it also includes the dealers price sticker, which shows a price of $56,933 after Doc Fee, Handling, Plush Mats and "Body Glo". Fun, rare stuff! Also some very old service documents, loan documents, registration documents, etc - will be included. The car includes the tool kit (pictured) and the original Manual case with manuals inside. This alone can be worth thousands$$! This car has been driven much less than I hoped, but it sure is fun to drive! I had a full service and engine rebuild done in 2009 by Ferrari of Washington (documentation included and available on request). The steering column was also rebuilt at this time. I have made a quick Youtube to show how quickly and nicely the engine starts up and runs. This is without touching the gas pedal, as the fuel injection works great! Here's the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QVq32iT-af0&feature=youtu.be No known accidents or body repairs. Keep in mind this car is 34 years old. Is it perfect? No! There are a couple rust spots on the rear trunk edge (they have not advanced at all since I bought it 7 years ago -- I always kept it in my garage). There is a paint crack on the hood. The windows roll up very slowly, and sometimes don't work. The CD player sometimes makes music, and sometimes doesn't. The seat adjustment bracket sometimes comes loose -- it just needs some TLC to fix it. The leather is worn, though not terrible for a 34 year old car with almost 56k miles! No rips or tears, just wear. The gauges are often inaccurate (like oil pressure, oil levels etc). You could say it's all the charm of owning a 3-decade old Italian car! That said, this car is a blast. I've never had any troubles with it starting or running. The emergency brake actually works, which is rare for this cars. Braking is great, as is steering (it does have the rebuilt steering rack!). If you are looking for a fun car to drive and enjoy, this just might be it. And with the boxer scheme it is a rare treat! I wish I had time and space for it, but I don't, so my loss is your gain. I have over $35,000 into this car. I am near Charlottesville, VA. The closest Ferrari dealer or service center is in Washington DC, 2 hours away. You are welcome to pay to have someone come flatbed the car to a dealer for an inspection. Or you can come check it out yourself. Contact me for more pictures and for copies of the service records. Virginia clear Title is in hand. It had 55,437 miles when purchased in November of 2007. I've, sadly, only put 350 miles on the car. :( I will also throw in the pictured soft red car cover (I believe it's for indoor use only). It's very soft on the car's finish, and stretches for a great fit & look. Good luck!On Feb-21-14 at 06:45:27 PST, seller added the following information: You can download the PDF of the ~$11,000 service done in 2009 here: http://www54.zippyshare.com/v/75152575/file.htmlOn Feb-24-14 at 11:13:02 PST, seller added the following information: Some more pics as requested by some bidders. Last oil & filter change done January 2013 (but car has barely been driven since). Also some additional items included: Jack bag with jack (pictured)Two sets of keys (pictured)Original fuse boxes (this has been upgraded to modern fuses using xxxxxxNew unused K&N Air FilterRotor Bulb Box w/ bulbsCigarette lighter powered light (I believe this was provided with the car from Ferrari to work on the car in the dark -- don't know if it works)Old-ish California "1 308" license plateOriginal (not working) Alternator ("new" rebuilt one was installed at the major service)MacCarbon Euro Bumper Installation kit On Feb-24-14 at 11:28:30 PST, seller added the following information: On Feb-24-14 at 11:32:20 PST, seller added the following information: Typo above, the fuses were upgraded using Birdman's 308 fuse upgrade kit, more information here: http://www.birdman308.com/fusebox_upgrade.htmOn Feb-24-14 at 12:45:32 PST, seller added the following information: During the major service done at Ferrari of Washington (I guess this wasn't an engine rebuild per se more than a major service with much of the engine taken apart), they replaced the cam gears with more expensive ($1500) metal gears instead of the standard plastic factory gears. Also the service technician pointed out "One thing that we NEVER see is a functional/intact smog pump. You have one! It's neat to us..." Probably because this was a California car.On Feb-25-14 at 12:50:49 PST, seller added the following information: Autocheck run on Feb 25, 2014: On Feb-26-14 at 11:55:45 PST, seller added the following information: Today I went over the car a bit more and created a video (linked below) to give you a bit of a virtual test drive. It does drive really nicely!I installed a brand new 775 CCA Diehard battery today at a cost of $173. The old battery was at the end of its life. Receipt will be included. The stereo DOES work -- you can hear a CD playing in one of the clips. The sound isn't bad!The gauges do work though the oil pressure reads low, even though Ferrari of Washington tested the engine directly when they did the major service and they said the actual pressure is fine. The tires are older but no sign of dry rot and plenty of tread. The A/C blows hard and Cold! The heat blows warm, though you'd never neat it with the heat from the engine in this car!The emergency brake does hold the car in place -- I remember working on getting this working a few years ago. It's a rare thing on these cars!As stated before, the windows have their gremlins. At the moment the left window is closed but doesn't move. The right window moves but stops about 2" from the top. This is common with these cars and new/rebuilt motors aren't too expensive. As you can hear the car shifts through all gears great, including reverse. Brakes are good.Any other questions, give me a shout!Over 5000 pages views and over 220 have this auction on their Watch List, thanks for looking!Link to virtual test drive and walk around filmed Feb 26 2014: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=em6Jaws_sXw
