Please note: Due to previous problems with a non paying bidder, I will need a $200 deposit received within 24 hours of the close of the auction. Non-paying bidders are unfair to other bidders as well as sellers. Please consider this carefully before placing a bid. Now here is something you don’t see very often! This is a VERY nice, very rare 1987 Toyota flatbed dually pickup truck. I hate to let it go, but I have bills to pay so I have to sell it. This truck has more options than I have ever seen in a Toyota truck, let alone a rare one ton flatbed! Best of all, it has just over 37,600 ORIGINAL miles on it! If you want a really handy truck for your business, farm, or around town, you just can’t get much more convenient than this. Here are the specifications: Deluxe, fuel injected, smooth and strong running 22RE engine Optional 3-speed automatic transmission with OVERDRIVE (operated automatically or manually by a push-button on the shift lever), shifts smoothly and feels solid NEW TIRES all around (expensive, heavy-duty commercial truck grade 65 p.s.i., not the typical 35-45 p.s.i. of lighter duty tires. I was told that these retailed at $1200.) AIR CONDITIONING (works great, blows cold) CRUISE CONTROL that works well RUST-FREE body Rear DUALLYS with 8 LEAF SPRINGS on each side! Heavy-duty FULL FLOATING rear AXLE NEW side RAILS and DECK in the bed Two brand new, commercial heavy-duty Weather Guard LOCKING TOOL BOXES (I was told they retailed for about $600.) Brand NEW FUEL TANK & accompanying hoses, etc. Deluxe optional Toyota chrome trim package including chrome grill, bumper & push bars, wheel well trim, etc. Deluxe dual mirror system Other than a few minor cracks in the dash and the driver's side bottom seat cushion (which needs to be reupholstered), the interior is really nice. I am sure it has other options I am forgeting about, but you get the idea. The engine runs great and sounds incredibly smooth and quiet. The transmission shifts nicely and feels quite solid, (as it should in a truck with just over 37,600 miles on it). This was a California truck before it came to Southern Oregon, and as you would expect, it has no rust issues at all that I can find. Now for a very short list of what you may want to fix. First, it comes with an AM/FM cassette radio, but it is not hooked up. Second, it does not come with a spare tire. It didn’t come with one when I bought it, and I figured that I would just use one of the duallys if I ever had a flat, but it is probably a good idea to get one. (It does have a very nice, mechanically driven tire mount under the bed.) Third, there is a small dent on the lower rear part of the passenger's side fender and a few small dings in the front bumper that aren't very noticeable. Also, if you look closely you can see that the driver's side rear side marker light lens is missing, but that is really not an item to fix since I just bought another one and installed it. These items are really no big deal, I just thought I would mention them. I believe that this truck was originally a factory motorhome conversion that was later converted to a flatbed truck. I found two stickers on the door jam. The Toyota factory sticker reads: “Chassis-Cab MFD by: Toyota Motor Corporation May 87”. Next to that one is another sticker that says, “Manufactured by: Leisure Odyssey, Inc., November 1987”. (I am assuming that Leisure Odyssey did the original motorhome conversion.) Here is a link to a Leisure Odyssey motorhome brochure so you can see how neat this little truck looked as a motorhome: http://www.toyotamotorhomes.com/manuals/OdysseyBrochure.pdf . This would also explain the blue door panels and carpeting at the base of the doors and the matching seats. It probably matched the carpeting and any vinyl in the living area of the motorhome. I don't think they are factory Toyota panel colors, but they are in good condition (other than the bottom cushion of the drivers seat that is still firm but does need to be reupholsterd from some wear and age.) and look good in the truck. The title for the truck is from California and is branded. I was wondering why, and then the previous owner told me that the original box was damaged in some kind of an accident so they just made a flatbed out of it. This made sense to me, especially because I couldn’t find any signs of damage anywhere on the truck itself. The truck steers down the road straight, doesn’t wander, and feels very solid. It just makes sense that when the motorhome box part was damaged, they took it off, which changed its function and caused its title to be branded. This is a solid, highly optioned little flatbed truck that is easy to maintain and ready to work. I will need a $200 deposit received within 24 hours of the close of the auction, and the truck must be paid for and picked up within 14 days of the close of the auction unless other arrangements are made before the close of the auction.
