Please note that this motorcycle has a DAMAGED ENGINE. This is an AS-IS auction. Please consider this a non-running motorcycle for purposes of your bid. This auction is for a 1989 Honda NX250 that is parked at a hotel long term parking 4 miles from Chicago O’Hare airport. I parked it there after driving 900 miles from CT. My original destination was Banff, Canada. You will require a way to tow/carry this bike out of a parking lot. It is not roadworthy or safe to ride as the rear directional signals are not stock and do not work after I removed the license plate. Having said that, please continue to read. I overfilled the crankcase with oil and I believe that at highway speeds damaged the pressure damage the rings. It ran when I parked it in early July, but the bike has ring blow-by and low compression. It requires a good deal of cranking to start, but it did start when parked. The motor needs a top end job at the very least. The combustion blow-by squirted oil out of the breather tube. The engine is not seized, but it does not contain full compression. The bike limped 150 miles in this state so it is messy. It is a tribute to the bike that it got me to Chicago. It has two virtually new street tires on it. New front brakes and fluids. The CDI unit was new Honda two seasons ago, and as you may know these commonly go bad and cost $150+. New battery. The original plastics were badly cracked and thrown away prior to the trip so they do not come with the bike (not pictured). It has also been down before so there are dents in the tank. The stop tabs are snapped on one side of the frame. The ignition key and the long term parking voucher to leave the lot are hidden on the bike. It is parked in a pre-paid spot, so no additional money is due when leaving the lot as long as it is picked up by August 2. If it is not picked up by August 2, any additional parking fees will be the obligation of the winning bidder. I can provide you with the parking manager’s contact information. The original Connecticut Title and a Bill of sale will be USPS Priority mailed to the winning bidder upon receipt of payment by check or money order. Paypal is also accepted. I will provide the parking location to the winning bidder. It is in an outdoor secure parking spot at a major hotel within 4 miles of Chicago’s O’Hare airport. It is a very safe location with 24 hour security.
