tjkristi Store 1971 MG -Ready to Restore - One Family Owner for 32 Years - Needs TLC 1971 MG This is a restorable 1971 MG that my father drove back and forth to work for 2 or 3 years sometime between 1980 and 1985. Something happened mechanically (I don't know what), and he parked it in his driveway, covered it, and it sat until 1999. He gave it to me because I said I wanted to restore it. I put it in our garage, and, in 13 years, I have only had time to buy new tires for it, two new 6-volt batteries, a new top (which I never finished installing), and I had my kids buff out the paint a little -- so much for my restoration! I have finally decided that I am NEVER going to have the time to restore this. My father suffers from Alzheimer's, and is in a full-time care facility, so I cannot ask him what was wrong with the car (I cannot remember what he told me 13 years ago was wrong with the car -- maybe I will be joining him with Alzheimer's)! NOTE: Mileage shows 17,007 - I do not know if that is an accurate number or not. It has only been driven (at the most) 3 years since 1980. I did license the car in 1999, but not since then. The title is clear and in my name. The new owner will be responsible for getting title in their name -- I will just sign off on the pink slip. Please look at the pictures. It is a very "sturdy" car -- email if you have any questions. My analysis of obvious problems with the car:Front windshield is cracked.Front floorboard has rusted through.Leather seats have cracked.Interior needs to be replaced.New top needs to be attachedMotor -- who knows? The car is located in the San Francisco East Bay Area.
