If you are looking for a really dependable, durable little pickup that gets great mileage, this may be just the truck for you. These trucks have a great reputation for fuel efficiency and dependability. I understand that the little diesel engines in these trucks are actually commercial duty and were also used in a number of commercial applications such as forklifts, commercial truck refrigeration compressors, etc... The body does have some dents and some rust in a few spots, as shown in the photos, but as you can also see, the frame looks like it is in great shape with nothing serious that I could find, just some surface rust. The only major dents are the ones at the base of the driver's door and the front of the driver's fender. It also has a minor dent in the front passenger's fender, some rust bubbling the paint at the bottom part of the outside of the bed on both sides, a few rust holes in the core support, and a few small rust holes in the bottom of the bed. Overall the truck is in really solid shape though. The seat and dash are not in very good shape, (see photos) but I just put a seat cover over the seat and had planned on putting a dash cover on the dash. The glass doesn't have any cracks or chips anywhere that I can see, but it does need some window fuzzies on the doors (I guess that is what you call them), door panels, a rear view mirror, seat belts, and a few other interior items, but it runs good and the 4-wheel drive works great. Not far from our place is a long, steep, muddy, rutty road that my full size Chevy can't quite get up. I was very surprised to find that this little truck went right up it with no problem at all, it didn't slip once! With it's manual 4-speed transmission and its really low granny first gear when you put it in 4-low, it's a great 4-wheeling truck. (It would climb a tree at an idle if it could get the traction! ) The truck has a little over 232,200 miles on it, but like I said it starts right up and runs great! It does send out a puff of smoke when it first starts up and smokes a little bit until it starts to get warm after 3 or 4 minutes, but it clears right up after that. I took all of the photos with the truck running so you can see it runs pretty clean for a truck with that many miles on it. I hear these little engines can go over 500,000 miles and do know a guy who has over that on his little diesel Isuzu and it still runs great! The previous owner installed a manual override switch for the glow plugs, which is really nice because you don't have to use the glow plugs at all when the truck is warm and can turn the switch on as long as you want on cold days to start it. The automatic glow plug controllers have a set period of time they stay on even when it is a warm day, so with the manual override you can limit the frequency and time you use the glow plugs, which makes them last a lot longer. Just before I bought the truck the previous owner put new steering components (such as ball joints) on it, welded a new exhaust and installed a newer starter, new clutch, new engine seals, newer used exhaust manifold to replace the original cracked one, turned the flywheel, and fixed or replaced a number of other items that I can't remember. I have only had the truck for about a month and haven't put more than 50 miles on it. I had planned on turning it into a great off road 4X4 that I could also use to get great mileage when I took it into town once and a while. I had also planned on putting custom bumpers on the back and on the front, installing a custom interior, and doing a number of other things to customize it. Unfortunately my work situation changed, and I will be spending a lot of time pulling a good size trailer around hauling things. The trailer is bigger than the truck can handle and I need the money, so I have to put it up for sale. I hate to sell it and will probably regret it later. I drove it around the place a bit here and took a few trips up into the mountains, but haven't driven it enough to figure out what kind of mileage it gets. The previous owner used it as a daily driver to and from work, a round trip of about 40 miles down the highway and said he got up to 40 MPG with it! I can't guarantee that it will get that good of mileage, but that's what he told me. Like I mentioned earlier, it has some dings here and there and doesn't have a very good paint job, (it looks like it is rustoleum that was put on with a roller) but it was meant to be an off road truck and not some pristine truck that you have to worry about scratching on a bush some where. The previous owner said he was going to have the front end aligned etc. so that was the next thing I had planned on doing with it. If you look at the front close you can see that the front wheels do toe out. I was going to have it fixed, but now I don't have the time since the nearest alignment shop is quite a ways from us and I have been working long hours, so that's something the new owner will need to do. Well, I guess that's about it. Oh yeah, although they have a some rust in a few areas, it does have some pretty nice retro looking chrome wheels on it. In the close up photo of one of the front wheels you will see one of the manual hubs. Since the photos were taken the manual hubs have been replaced with the optonal automatic hubs. This way I can shift on the go if I start slipping and won't have to get out of the truck and step in a mud hole or something to put the hubs in. It also has an AM/FM cassete radio which does need an antenna. You can fix it up for a nice cruise around town truck, or leave it as is for a run around the hills work truck, (or of course use it for both). Either way you will have a dependable, very fuel efficient little truck. I have tried to list everything I can think of so the new owner won't have any surprises when he gets it, but if you have any questions just let me know and I will do my best to answer them. It does have a clear title. If you have any questions or need more photos just let me know. As I mentioned earlier, I will need a $200 deposit received within 24 hours of the close of the auction and the balance received within 2 weeks. I can hold the truck for you for up to one month unless previous arrangements are made. Thanks for viewing this auction!
