Always maintained, never driven in Winter and totally unmodified from original, this RX7 is one of the nicest early models you will ever find. Driven only 73,986 miles from new and never damaged, this car was repainted in the original Dark Gray Metallic approximately 15 years ago and is still very presentable except for some small chips and very minor dings. This is the top of the line RX7 for 1982 as a GSL featuring four wheel disc brakes and a limited slip rear end. It also has the desirable 5-speed manual transmission, air conditioning and removable sunroof. The interior is all original with very nice undyed Dark Red leather seats and beautiful carpet which is torn and needs replaced. The original dash pad is near mint without the visual cracking from sun damage. All exterior trim and bumper covers are very nice and window glass including windshield is near perfect. Rear hatch support struts should be replaced to properly hold glass in the open position. We just did a light service on this car and it runs and drives excellent. Beautiful shifting gearbox and excellent clutch, this car was NEVER abused by adult woman owner. Original radio works as does the power antenna amazingly. All lights and gauges operate, power windows and hidden headlamps work well. Tires are very old, excellent tread but some small cracking in the treads and should likely be replaced. The rotary motor starts easily, sounds great, performs very well and shows no evidence of needing any work whatsoever. The car is a pleasure to drive, good performace, great handling and actually a very comfortable sports car. Its no wonder Car & Driver magazine listed this a top ten list for cars of that era. Most importantly it should be noted that contray to most RX-7's of this first series, this car has no rust issues, never did in fact. The underside is clean and still retains the orginal Mazda undercoats and finishes including textured rocker panels that have never been redone.
