THIS IS A NO RESERVE AUCTION! This auction is for a REALLY sweet Honda Z50A Mini Trail, VIN 374511. EXPERT eyes will note that this is actually a K1/K2/K3. This has the rear brake pedal (no cable) and later taillight but all the other original K1 parts. In a way, it has the best upgrades from three years of production! If you’re not a purist collector, you will not find fault with this bike. It is not a perfect museum piece, but HAS been painstakingly restored with lots of TLC. To start with, the engine (#Z50AE 352782) has been totally rebuilt (bored first over, new piston and rings, valve job, automatic clutch totally gone through and adjusted, new points, engine cases and head beadblasted, all new seals and gaskets, etc) by a factory trained Honda mechanic with over 40 years of experience. You will actually have to BREAK THIS ENGINE IN (I’ve put about 5 minutes on the bike since rebuild)! The following have been replaced with either NOS or reproduction parts: steering bearings, seat cover, rear tire and tube, fork gaiters, headlight bulb, battery and strap, gas tank mounting rubber, throttle cable, air filter foam, spark plug, drive chain and of course, fresh oil. The following HARD TO FIND original parts are still on this bike: air cleaner, complete headlight and taillight assemblies, gas tank badges, chainguard, exhaust heat shield, battery box and rectifier, and factory muffler assembly. Carb has been rebuilt and may need some minor fine tuning once the engine is broken in but seems to work great. This started on the SECOND kick after the rebuild, and runs awesome. Mechanically, brakes work very well, clutch is excellent, gearbox shifts great all through three gears, all lights and switches work. Main switch seems a little sticky sometimes but I believe it will improve with use and maybe some contact cleaner – this bike was stored indoors for a long time and needs to be ridden! Handlebar knobs work fine and handlebars actually fold down (have some scrapes and a slight tweak – see photos)! This little critter will pop first gear wheelies easily if you want to. Cosmetically, there is some minor wear and tear, paint imperfections, etc. as to be expected – call it PATINA. Since there is no speedometer the mileage is unknown. Fenders have some scratches, and some slight acid staining on the rear fender from a previous owner not having the vent tube installed (the new battery has one!) The bike HAS been repainted, as close to factory colors as available. The gas tank is all original, very solid, clean and rust free inside, and was sealed for extra measure. Engine has a very minor drip which may go away once seals expand. This bike is all complete, here is a chance for you to OWN HISTORY! This bike deserves a great home to a young child hankering for his first bike, an old kid wanting to relive his youth, or someone wanting a REALLY cool pit bike.
