Up for sale is my 1996 Mercedes Benz E300 Diesel Sedan. I bought it off of eBay in 2008 at 175K. Didn't need to do much to get it past Maryland inspection, one of the hardest in the states. It is the last year of the mechanical automatic transmission vs the electronic trans making, if ever needed, much cheaper to rebuilt or replace under $3K vs $5K for the electronic a plus. It also is the last year for the non-turbo diesel engine, again don't have to worry about turbo repairs. Since I have had the car, it has been taken care of by a local 2nd generation Mercedes repair shop. I am a nut about oil and filter changes it every 3K even though they say you can go further, I don't. It had a little bit of rust bubbles starting to pop out last year, car was given to my friend who has a body shop, where it was taken care of. As you can see I have not driven the car very much of the last few years as I drive 100 miles a day mostly my Ford F-150. I also just purchased an 2001 E320 4Matic wagon as my new car ride. I am the fifth owner but the car fax link will tell you the right info. As for the interior it's clean but not pristine, there are a few hickeys in the rear pass side door panel as well as two in the pass door,it looked like something hard scraped the leather cover and has left a marks. There are the cracks in the front of the dash from the sun running from defrost vents to air bag panel, normal on the older MBZ.There are no rips or tears in the seats front or back, in the photos you will see some lamb skin seat covers, they go with the car,I took them off for the photos. The biggest problem with the car at this time is the LEDs in the instrument panel have a line out, you may be able to see from photo and on very cold days ,below 30, they don't work till the car heats up. As for miles per gallon, I get 30 but I am a lead foot, they say you can get as much as 38 out of it if you baby it. I also have all the booklets and a second key. All in all it's a great daily driver that looks good. I have never had this car let me down, it just runs. In case you think why is this guy selling it if it's such a great car well I have owned it about 5 years and that's about the length of time I keep any car before I get bored with it except my 1982 300D MBZ with 375K on it,I just like that car.
