1955 Porsche 550 Spyder This spectacular automobile is the highest possible quality built 550 Spyder with an intense focus on every single detail. This with a racecar-style full tube frame and meticulous body finished to exacting proportions. It's powered by the same motor in the original 550 Spyder, a fast 2.3 liter flat four 2200 cc type 1 volkswagen motor, with twin weber 44S, jet-coated magnaflow headers and exhaust. It also has an upgraded CB high-performance transmission as well as a Porsche 911 shroud on the motor. There are special gears in the transmission: 388 r&p with a 310 1st, a 193 2nd, 121 3rd, and 082 4th. The output is in the neighborhood of 160 horsepower in a car that weighs under 1300 lbs. Handling is direct and tenacious thanks to the brand new adjustable Bilstien coil over shocks at all four corners which are complimented by four wheel disc brakes and two piece aluminum racing weels fitted with new Dunlop sport racing tires. This car is finished in the eye-popping stark white with cobalt blue stripes on the rear flanks. The headrest "spear", vintage style mobil decals, number gumballs, top of the line sebring windshield, and leather lid buckles complete the overall scheme that mimics the look of many privateers that campaigned these cars in sport car racing in the mid 50's This car is ridiculously fast and will no doubt out perform even the originals. The odometer currently reads 008513 kilometers (5312 miles). Note that the title lists 007000 miles but is in fact kilometers.
