Vehicle Detail
I have to regretfully put my project vehicle up for sale. I am out of work and need the funds. It started out as a 1948 Crosley Panel Wagon. I have chopped it 6" , sectioned it 6 " , and shortened it 5" . The rear wheel openings have been re-radius to accept big cheater slicks, and moved to the rear 7" . 95% of the welding on the body is complete except for a small amount on the tailgate . All of the bodywork has been done with the exception of the passenger door , tailgate , and minor work on the cowel. I have also converted the doors to "suicied " style. The passenger latch still needs to be installed. The latches are the new style "bear claw" ones. The frame is constructed of 2x3 box tube. The front suspension is all new, just installed. It features a 6" dropped, spring behind axle with Ford spindles and has mustang II disc brake set up, and used hair pins. I also have front shocks to install. It is set up for "traditional" style steering. The rear is a narrowed Chrysler 8 3/4 locker unit with big brakes and 5/8 studs. It does need a gasket. It is held in place by radius rods , and pan hard bar, and sits on coil over shocks. I cant remember the gear ratio, but it was in the 5 range. There is no flooring installed. I also have a 1951 Ford Flathead motor and a C-4 automatic transmission (which was recently gone through) . You will however need to buy the adapter kit to couple these together. I have over 5,000 invested in it so far just in new parts alone, not including all the hours in the body mods and smoothing it up . I do have a clear West Virginia title. The buyer will need to provide at least front wheels and tires which are 5 on 4.5 pattern to move the vehicle, and a couple of good strong backs as I have no wheels and tires as of yet. I really hate to let it go, but I dont have much choice at this time. Thanks for looking !
