CLEAN AND STRAIGHT CAR WITH GOOD OPTIONS AND STRONG DRIVING 289 V8! SHARP CRUISER THAT WILL BE A LOT OF FUN FOR COLLECTOR OR ENTHUSIAST. FACTORY OPTIONS: 1) Manual steering 2) Manual drum brakes 3) Power convertible top 4) Standard bucket seat interior 5) Automatic transmission (formerly 3 speed manual) 6) 3.20:1 rear end ratio 7) Stock steel wheels with hubcaps and whitewall radial tires 8) Turn signal hood 9) Dual Exhaust The car comes from sunny Florida, where it has been collector owned and lovingly used for the past few years, and stored in a heated garage throughout this time. The car had an older body-on restoration done in the 1980s that was deteriorating when I got it. I had my body shop completely wetsand and buff the car to bring out the paint a bit better than before. I have installed a new dual exhaust with stock mufflers, as well as a new battery. The carburetor was adjusted a bit and brakes were checked and adjusted. The entire underside was undercoated and I had my upholstery guy freshen up the seats and door panels with interior dye so they look good. Overall it is a very presentable driver that runs beautifully. Interior is in GOOD condition with minor general wear here and there. Seats in good shape with no major tears. Carpet is older but presentable. Dash is nice. Door panels in good shape with minor wear and one crack on passenger armrest. Nice steering wheel. Convertible top is presentable with one very small tear by rear driver's side. Seats and door panels were redyed and look good. Overall a fairly presentable driver quality interior! Under the hood, the car currently has a stock 289ci 2V and has been built up to C-Code specs with some minor performance modifications including Mallory distributor, performance plugs/wires, dual exhaust, and some minor internal block modifications. Formerly a six cylinder 3 speed car (clutch pedal is still on the floor for an easy conversion to manual transmission if desired). Starts easily and sounds great . Good stock power overall and brakes stop WELL. Nice and solid throughout. Steering is nice and nimble without too much play in it. Very fun to drive and you can hop in and drive it anywhere at the turn of the key, just tune it the way you want and you're ready to go. I've driven it mostly around town here and there, a few times on the highway, never on any long trips. SOLID underside as you'll see in the pictures. GOOD torque boxes with solid floors, good trunk (normal surface rust), good frame rails (front passenger side had minor patch), and decent shock towers. Being an old car, it is NOT perfect by any means. Paint shines up FAIRLY with DECENT luster for a presentable driver (NOT a showcar of course). Some minor imperfections here and there from use as you would expect like small chips/minor touch-ups/scratches/overall fading and the like. Could use new valve cover gaskets as they leak slightly. Front end sits a little low so it could use newer springs. Rear driver's side window is off the track and needs adjusting. Rear lower quarter dropoffs have filler in them on both sides, more so on the passenger side. Not working: horn, could use a couple of bulbs replaced, radio works but no sound. Missing front driver's side lower signal lens. That's about all I was able to notice from my inspection. I am sure there are other tiny details i've forgotten so please keep that in mind, this is NOT a brand new car obviously. OVERALL IT'S A VERY PRESENTABLE LOOKING 1968 FORD MUSTANG 289 V8 CONVERTIBLE THAT RUNS/DRIVES GREAT AND WILL TAKE YOU ANYWHERE YOU WANT TO GO IN STYLE!
