These auctions cost money and I don't have time to start chasing you. Thank you and good luck. ***** UP FOR AUCTION IS A VERY SHARP LOOKING 1971 CORVETTE STINGRAY CONVERTIBLE IN CORRECT WAR BONNET YELLOW WITH BLACK INTERIOR! STRONG RUNNING V8 AND AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. VERY SHARP CRUISER THAT WILL BE A LOT OF FUN FOR COLLECTOR OR ENTHUSIAST. Factory Options: 1) Power steering 2) Power Disc brakes 3) Dual exhaust 4) Standard black bucket seat interior 5) Stock appearing V8 motor (400ci block) 6) TH-400 automatic transmission 7) 15" Rally wheels with white letter radial tires 8) Power windows 9) Air conditioning (parts removed) 10) Factory auxiliary hardtop (available but not included) 11) Am/Fm radio 12) Luggage rack The car comes from North Carolina, where it has been collector owned and maintained. Basically the previous owner started doing a body-off restoration on the car sometime within the last few years, but never finished it. Body was lifted off the frame and the chassis was completely gone through with NEW bushings, tie rods, brakes all around, fuel tank, brake lines, fuel lines, exhaust/mufflers, frame was sandblasted and completely re-painted (pictures available). Radiator was also upgraded to a big block unit for better cooling. Then the body was sent to the body shop and repainted in the correct War Bonnet Yellow (code 989 off the trim tag), and the shop really should have done a much better job, but overall very presentable. The convertible top was professionally replaced, and I had my upholstery guy install a new carpet throughout. Eventually the owner ran out of funds and lost interest and that's where I got the car. I sent it to my shop and had the body completely wetsanded and buffed out, and did some detailing work here and there and drove the car for the last few months. Interior is in FAIR/GOOD condition with minor general wear here and there. Seats are presentable with normal wear here and there, no rips but upholstery is getting thin (missing driver's side rear seat back). Door panels presentable. Good steering wheel. Dash pad in good shape with minor wear. Carpet in NEW. Console is worn but fairly presentable for a driver. Convertile top is excellent. Overall a fairly presentable driver quality interior! Under the hood the car has a 400ci long block that has been dressed with NEW aluminum intake, NEW 4bbl. carburetor, HEI ignition, headers into dual exhaust and sounds great. Stock finned aluminum valve covers were installed and a new air cleaner element as well (decal on air cleaner is incorrect!). Starts easily and sounds great. Transmission shifts good and crisp. NO noises from the rear end. Good stock power overall and brakes stop well. Nice and solid throughout. Steering is nice and nimble with some normal play in it since this is a 40+ year old car. Very fun to drive and you can hop in and drive it everyday with minor tlc! I've driven it mostly around my neighborhood, a few times on the highway on the way to the beach or local cruise nights. Underside is actually in above average condition with good SOLID floorboards. ROCK SOLID frame and rails from what I could see. Birdcage is nice and clean and windshield pillar posts are in good shape with some surface rust. Overall much better than your average rusted out and pieced together underside. Somebody spent a lot of time restoring this frame off the car! Being an old car, it is NOT perfect by any means. Paint shines up WELL with GOOD luster for a PRESENTABLE driver (NOT a showcar of course). Various imperfections in the fiberglass, including a couple of minor stress cracks here and there, chips, scratches, couple of small air bubbles here and there etc. Some panel fit could be better (hood, fenders). Not working: horn, e-brake (needs new cable), headlights (they go on, but do not go up or down as they rub a little and could use new vacuum lines), radio, wipers (wiper door needs new vacuum lines as well), couple of console gauges not working, could use a bulb or two replaced. Missing: a/c parts. That's about all I was able to notice from my inspection. I am sure there are other tiny details i've forgotten so please keep that in mind, this is NOT a brand new car obviously. PLEASE NOTE: I do have a hardtop available for an extra price for this car. It is the optional auxiliary hardtop (with vinyl covering). OVERALL IT'S A GREAT LOOKING CRUISER THAT DRIVES EXCEPTIONALLY WELL AND HAS HAD A LOT OF TIME AND MONEY INVESTED IN A BODY-OFF RESTORATION THAT WAS NEVER FINISHED. GREAT CRUISER THE WAY IT IS OR FINISH RESTORING TO YOUR LIKING. VERY NICE EXAMPLE OF AN 86K MILE 1971 CORVETTE STINGRAY CONVERTIBLE IN CORRECT WAR BONNET YELLOW THAT IS LOADED WITH OPTIONS. DON'T MISS OUT, THESE CARS DON'T COME ACROSS EVERY DAY!. Contact me at (917) 749-4302cell or e-mail CLASSICS411@AOL.COM. Auction may be stopped at any time.
