Vehicle Detail
I bought this buggy about 5 years ago for a fun summer vehicle. Enjoyed the car a lot and the kids love it! The motor runs great. Transmission shifts firmly and does not skip a beat. (manual 4 speed with short throw shifter). This buggy has been garage stored and I am only the 2nd owner since conversion. It drives nice down the road and highway and is comfortable to drive. 1965 chassis and engine. 1600 cc engine runs great. Dual carbs. Headers. New battery and alternator. New fog lights. Gages including vintage Sun tach, oil pressure & temp. Back seat with 3 lap belts. Runs great. I tuned it up, adjusted valves, and installed electronic ignition. Very reliable. I recently drove it 100 miles on a highway trip to / from the beach at 65 mph the wholw way. Ran great! Needs a little work to be in 100% working order. I recently replaced the alternator. About 200 miles later the nut on back of fan fell off and blocked the fan. I was very close to home (2 minutes) and took off belt to get home. Did not overheat - runs great! Been sitting now for a few months and I have no time to look at it but this is an easy fix. Great winter project. New tires and aluminum wheels. If you are looking for a dune buggy this is certainly worth looking at. It is street registered currently. Enjoy the open air experience of driving a buggy with go kart handling and both on and off road capabilities. Dash is complete with tachometer and sunpro aftermarket gauges. Aftermarket buckets and seatbelts. This Dune Buggy is an accumulation of many expensive parts including wheels, tires, 4-speed short throw shifter, new glass windshield, etc. It is very nicely done, it is a fiber glass body with green Dura texture coating. Unit is street legal and registered as an antique (about $175 a year for insurance). Recently appraised for $12.5k. My reserve is less than 1/2 of that. No trades Please. Thank you for looking. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LBOEaO9b3lg
