Mercedes Benz 1989 300E Black 4 Door Sedan :: Pick-Up New Jersey 1989 Mercedes Benz 300E Pick-Up Only Northern New Jersey -------------------- Offered for sale is our 1989 Mercedes Benz 300E in black We purchased this car, used, in December of 2004 and have been using it on a regular basis since that time. The car has not been in any accidents since our date of purchase in 2004. An accident history is not available for the years prior to our ownership of the vehicle. Its present mileage is approximately 207,000. We have had it serviced about 4 times yearly by our mechanic for regular oil changes and maintenance. The car has a 3.0 liter 6 cylinder engine, fuel injected and uses premium fuel. There is an automatic 4 speed transmission which operates between the driver and passenger seats. It is rear wheel drive. Features include: Driver side airbag, power steering, cruise control, automatic climate control, central locking, power windows, tinted glass, rear window defroster, sliding sun roof with rear pop-up ( in working order presently ), 2 speed windshield wipers, power assist brakes, light alloy wheels, AM/FM stereo radio with cassette, power front seats ( in working order presently), front light wipers. The car is painted in black with gray MB Tex interior upholstery Also included with the sale of the car are four snow tires ( already mounted on rims ), the owner's manual and the original sticker ( about $44,000 ). A spare tire is also included inside the trunk. Here are the notable flaws that we have observed: The radio antenna does not retract. We leave it in the extended position and the radio reception is good. The front passenger side window does not go up or down presently The engine leaks / burns a small amount of oil each month. When the oil light goes on we fill with a quart of oil. The gas cap door does not lock. This was left this way on purpose, as the locking mechanism stuck occasionally in the locked position. The window washer fluid evaporates quite quickly ( no definite leak detected by our mechanic ). The washer fluid light goes on when level is low. There is a squeaking sound whenever the heater/AC fan is on. The left rear door sticks a little when closing. Additional notes: The car passed the NJ inspection in December of 2010 The battery was replaced on June 9, 2011 The car has its original transmission The seats have no tears or stains. There are small coffee stains on the floor upholstery. The only visible rust on the body is a 3 inch x 1/2 inch area near the edge of the front tire wheel well ( see close-up photo below ). The "300E" insignia on the back has a broken "E" ( see close-up photo below ) No significant body paint flaws are noted ( a light scattering of minor imperfections such as scratches are noted on close exam ) and no other remarkable damage externally. The original front floor mats are very worn and stained, but the floor underneath appears in excellent shape. 4 keys will come with the car ( these are expensive to replace so having four is good ). General: The car runs well and has been used regularly. We have to sell as we bought a new car and do not have room for the Mercedes in our garage. Obviously this is an older car with high mileage, its original 22 year old motor and transmission, but we have tried to keep and maintain it as best as possible.
