Thank you and good luck. ***** UP FOR AUCTION IS A GREAT LOOKING 1968 CORVETTE CONVERTIBLE REAL 427/435HP CAR WITH 57K MILES (BELIEVED TO BE ORIGINAL) FROM THE 2ND OWNER THAT IS TURN-KEY AND READY TO DRIVE! VERY SHARP CRUISER THAT WILL BE A LOT OF FUN FOR COLLECTOR OR ENTHUSIAST. Factory Options: 1) Manual steering 2) Power Disc brakes 3) Side exhaust 4) Standard black bucket seat interior 5) Original 427ci/435hp 3x2 car from factory 6) Muncie 4 speed manual transmission 7) 15" Rally wheels with radial tires 8) Am/Fm radio 9) telescoping steering column 10) hardtop available for additional charge (needs paint) The car comes from PA., where it has been collector owned and maintained. Purchased from the 2nd owner, who basically has had the car since the early 1980s and kept it in a barn for over 20 years. It resurfaced only 2-3 years ago and has been gone through mechanically to be put back on the road, and boy does this car RUN! All the gas was replaced, lines cleaned, fluids were all replaced, new battery, coil, plugs/wires, all the calipers were replaced, etc etc. It is the correct CORDOVAN MAROON with standard black interior and odometer shows 57k miles whick are believed to be original. Documentation is available for some of the work performed, including pictures of when the vehicle was taken out of storage. Interior is in VERY GOOD condition with minor general wear here and there. Seats are nice with minor wear. Door panels very nice with some wear around the edges. Good steering wheel. Dash pad in good shape. Carpet is presentable. Convertible top worn with a couple of small rips but still fairly presentable. Overall a nicely presentable driver quality interior! Under the hood the original 427/435hp 3x2 motor and tri-carb setup are long gone (I do not have it), replaced with a 454 engine that fires right up and sounds fantastic. Starts easily and sounds great. Transmission shifts good and crisp. NO noises from the rear end. Good stock power overall and brakes stop well. Nice and solid throughout. Steering is nice and nimble but a bit tough when parking. Very fun to drive and you can hop in and drive it right now! I've driven it mostly around my neighborhood and a few times on the highway to make sure everything is good mechanically. Underside is actually in above average condition with good SOLID floorboards with minor imperfections. GOOD frame rails from what I could see. Birdcage is nice and clean and windshield pillar posts are in good shape. Overall much better than your average rusted out and pieced together underside, with only normal scaly surface rust present. Being an old car, it is NOT perfect by any means. Paint shines up NICELY with GOOD luster for a GOOD driver (NOT a showcar of course). Various imperfections in the fiberglass, including stress cracks by the headlights and top of front fenders as is common on these older Corvettes. Cracked lower valence flap. Various chips and scratches here and there as well. Chrome is not perfect. Missing: spare (carrier assembly is all there), rear storage compartment area could use new carpeting and new hinges. Headlights do work, but are slow going up and down. Wiper cover not working, couple of gauges not hooked up, could use a bulb or two replaced here and there. Side pipes outer covers have some rust in a couple of spots and should be repainted. That's about all I was able to notice from my inspection. I am sure there are other tiny details i've forgotten so please keep that in mind, this is NOT a brand new car obviously. OVERALL IT'S AN ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS AND EYE CATCHING CRUISER THAT WITH VERY LITTLE TLC CAN EASILY BE TURNED INTO A TURN-KEY DRIVER THAT YOU CAN TAKE ANYWHERE. HOP IN AND DRIVE IT WITH THE TOP DOWN AND ENJOY THE WEATHER AND FINISH TINKERING WITH IT AS YOU SEE FIT. VERY NICE EXAMPLE OF LOW 57K MILE 1968 CORVETTE CONVERTIBLE FACTORY 427/435HP CAR WITH A 4 SPEED IN THE ORIGINAL COLOR THAT IS VIRTUALLY READY TO DRIVE.
