Thank you and good luck. ***** UP FOR AUCTION IS A GORGEOUS LOOKING ORIGINAL NUMBERS MATCHING 1970 FORD MUSTANG CONVERTIBLE WITH BOSS 302 APPEARANCE PACKAGE AND 81K ORIGINAL AND DOCUMENTED MILES ON THE ODOMETER! VERY SHARP CRUISER THAT WILL BE A LOT OF FUN FOR COLLECTOR OR ENTHUSIAST. Factory Options: 1) Power steering 2) Manual drum brakes 3) Dual exhaust 4) Power Convertible top 6) Hi-back bucket seats w/console and floor shift 7) #s MATCHING 302ci 2V motor 8) Automatic C4 transmission 9) Hood scoop w/CobraJet emblems 10) Magnum 500 wheels w/white letter Radial tires 11) Front and rear spoilers 12) BOSS 302 appearance package The car comes from Mass., where it has been collector owned and maintained. Owner did some minor refurbishing to stock basically, so it looked pretty plain jane. He purchased it with 65k miles and kept a log book full of service history and maintenance work performed on the car, documenting every single step. He also decided to make it stand out a bit by adding all the appearance goodies you see, such as the Boss stripe kit, front and rear spoilers, center console, Magnum 500 wheels and dressed up the engine bay to look like a proper high performance car of the time with chrome export brace and monte carlo bar and finned aluminum valve covers as well as a Cobra air cleaner. The car has had an older refurbishing in the late 80s. Recently it has had a new high quality convertible top installed (about 4-5 years ago) and various mechanical servicings were done (fluid changes, plugs/wires, tune-up, solenoid, etc etc.). The wheels were also recently repainted and new center caps installed. Interior is in GOOD condition with minor general wear here and there. Seats are in good shape (the bottoms of the front ones were reupholstered not too long ago). Door panels very nice. Good steering wheel. Convertible top is excellent. Dash pad has a brand new cover over the existing dash. Console is driver quality (included with the car). Overall a nicely presentable driver quality interior! Under the hood lies the stock MATCHING NUMBERS F-CODE 302ci 2V motor which is 100% bone stock from the looks of it, other than the added appearance package as you can see. Starts easily and sounds great. Good stock power overall and brakes stop WELL. Nice and solid throughout. Steering is nice and nimble although a little loose like on most older mustangs. Very fun to drive and you can hop in and drive it right now without worries, just tune it the way you want and you're ready to go. I've driven it mostly around town here and there, and a few times on the highway on the way to a local cruise night or car show. Recently I took it to Connecticut and back, about 100 miles each way and it performed great. Most if not everything in the car seems to be working fine: horn, lights, signals, radio, gauges, etc. Being an old car, it is NOT perfect by any means. Paint shines up NICELY with good luster for a presentable driver (NOT a showcar of course). Some minor imperfections here and there from use as you would expect like small chips, tiny scratches, and various touch-ups here and there from when the Boss stripes were applied (the paint kept peeling off from the masking tape so lots of touchups by hood area) and such. Underside had typical Mustang rust issues in the past so the floors, torque boxes were previously patched and undercoated. Good shock towers. Trunk is basically original with original paint still in there (along with original spare and jack). Frame rails have some scaly surface rust and minor previous patches. Bumpers could use replacing/rechroming. Carburetor is a little cold natured and should eventually have a rebuild. That's about all I was able to notice from my inspection. I am sure there are other tiny details i've forgotten so please keep that in mind, this is NOT a brand new car obviously. OVERALL IT'S AN ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS AND EYE CATCHING CRUISER THAT IS A TURN-KEY DRIVER YOU CAN TAKE ANYWHERE. HOP IN AND DRIVE IT WITH THE TOP DOWN AND ENJOY THE WEATHER AND FINISH TINKERING WITH IT AS YOU SEE FIT. VERY NICE EXAMPLE OF A MATCHING NUMBERS 1970 FORD MUSTANG "BOSS 302 TRIBUTE" CONVERTIBLE WITH 81K ORIGINAL AND DOCUMENTED MILES!. Contact me at (917) 749-4302cell or e-mail CLASSICS411@AOL.COM. Auction may be stopped at any time.
