This listing is for a 1984 Ford Tempo with a 4 cylinder Mazda diesel engine. It was a daily driver, 40 mpg vehicle for me until March when someone blew a stop sign and it sustained the damage you see... mainly to front right but also right rear. I have 2 other diesel vehicles, so am going to let someone else figure out how to best proceed with this one. I have salvage title. I have owned this car for 3 years with no major problems. I bought it on EBAY myself from owner who purchased from original elderly owner just to turn it over on EBAY. He assumed it must have 182K (at the time)...but I think it really may have only been 82K. (no hundred thousand line) Whatever the case, it reads about 96K now, and it always started right up and never smoked much. I had it converted to run on Bio Diesel and ran up to a 95% blend in summer months and gradually less % in cooler/cold months. New paint in 2010 (left side of car looks great!) New radials in summer 2010, and this year new starter and glow plugs in Feb. The motor is a 2.0, 4 cylinder diesel Mazda. I drove it Yellowstone and back and got over 43mpg...and regularly got around 37 in town. It is a 5 speed manual shift and I never had any trouble shifting. I drove it back 2 miles from the accident site, but I don't suggest trying to drive it. There should be plenty of Ford Tempo/ Mercury Topaz vehicles out there from the mid '80's if you wanted to part this one out and have yourself a great MPG rig!
