Offered is a 1994 Tempo that was a one owner vehicle until the recent inheritance. It was routinely serviced and driven daily. I took the car to our mechanic to have it evaluated. He determined that the rear right brake is dragging and will need repair and the idle air control motor needs to be replaced. The defective idle air control motor is causing the vehicle to be in a fast idle when in neutral and to shift hard from forward to reverse while sitting still. The car seems a little bouncy when on a rough road and may need struts at some point. The drivers side rear window does not go up or down. The motor shorted and was disconnected. The drivers shoulder harness has been removed but the lap belt is still intact. The drivers seat adjusts electrically but sometimes it needs a push from the rear to move it forward. There are small rust spots on the bottom of each door and a small rust spot above the back drive side tire. As far was I know everything else on the vehicle works including the air conditioner but you are buying the car as is. I drive it daily for short distances just to keep the fluids circulating and do not feel the brake dragging even though it is per the mechanic. Just for a clarification the mechanic put the car on the computer and then did troublshooting to determine that the idle air control motor needs to be replaced.On Jun-17-11 at 16:09:07 PDT, seller added the following information: 6-17-11 Update. I forgot to list in the ad that the rear portion of the roof near the rear window is dented when the original owner backed into his partially open garage door. The window is not damaged. I have had a couple of questions about oil leaks. The mechanic did not see any but I remember spotting on the original owners garage floor. I drove the car today to warm it up and parked it on concrete and let it sit for several hours. There were no oil spots on the concrete. While the car was parked on the concrete I noticed the the drivers side sits slightly lower than the passenger side. I did not see this until today and it was not listed in the original description. When I pushed the car up and down I heard creaking on the drivers side. While checking the car today, I found that the automatic door locks work for the rear doors but do not work for the front doors. In addition I could not unlock and open the passenger door with either the key or by pulling the knob up. I could unlock the drivers door with the key or by pulling the knob up. Sorry that I missed this. Neither the original owner or myself used the passenger door. I was asked about the trunk. I checked it and do not see any signs of water leakage. The spare tire and jack look like new.
