Vehicle Detail

Up for bid is a great running, FUN to drive 1993 Honda Del Sol S that I, regretfully, must part with. This car is located in Lansing, MI, & is my daily driver with ~341,000 mostly all highway miles (I travel about 900/wk) and it has been an extremely reliable ride. I drive this year round and it has been great in the snow & in the sun! I get compliments on this everywhere I go! This has been adult owned throughout its whole life. It gets 34-38 MPG consistently. It is a stock 2-seater with a Targa top(comes off & stores in trunk) and an Si rear air foil, 1.5L SOHC 102 hp aluminum engine (#D15B7-2351663), 4 Speed Auto transmission, drivers side air bag: not equipped with A/C. All 3 windows work fine electrically, the transmission shifts as it should, all lights in working order, Targa top locks into trunk frame, full size spare tire, no broken/ripped interior trim, 1 wear spot on drivers seat back, and only 1 small indentation on the hood (hardly noticeable). We bought this from the original owning family and have records back to the new car Purchase in Aug '93. I am ONLY selling this because I need a 4 door car for carpooling now. This car still has many miles left and could easily do another 100k! Its a Honda! I have Very much enjoyed owning this car & am sure the next owner will have as much fun in it as I did. This car does show on the Carfax that it had 3 accidents & these were minor fender benders that happened with the previous owners. Nothing serious. WORK RECENTLY PERFORMED * Engine rebuilt @ 198k by Honda technician (per previous owner) In the past 100k, the following was done: * New right rear inner/outer quarter panel replaced due to rust * New Paint job due to fading paint* New distributor, radiator + hoses, front struts* Transmission service In the past 50-60k, the following was performed: * New timing belt + water pump @ 300k* Front Brake Rotors/pads* Rear Brake drum cylinders/shoes/resurfacing* New rear exhaust * New upper control arm/ball joint - drivers' side* New drive belts* New distributor cap, rotor, platinum plugs* Radiator flushed* Regular oil changes with Castrol High Mileage oil (the engine uses approx. 1 Qt/ 2k miles, with no leaks or smoking)* Kumho Solus KR21 185/70-13 tires (probably good for another 40k miles) ISSUES * Roof seal leak on driver's side (over left knee) - a common pre-96 Del Sol issue* Cracked windshield + missing window trim - driver's side (see photo)* Drivers door lock not working* Neutral shift interlock not working...key-bypass needed only to shift out of park (I considered it good anti theft) See photo of console* CD stuck in Sony radio ( otherwise good 4 speaker sound with newer Alpine speakers)* Paint fade spot on hood -driver's side* Rust on: - Rear quarter panel + rocker panel - driver's side - Driver's side window pillar - Lower passenger door - Small spots forming on trunk lid edge and trunk lock cylinder The above is as accurate an assessment of this car as I can make. Feel free to contact me if additional questions need answers. This car is being sold AS/IS with no expressed warranties. Thanks for looking.
