1968 Honda CB

Yes, it's a kit of parts!! Here is a rare 1968 Honda CB175. I have included a picture of what it looks like when it is in one piece. I bought it with the intention of cleaning everything up, replacing some parts and doing a cosmetic restoration. I stripped it down to be able to inventory what is needed and over the years I have accumulated some new parts. I never found the time to actually start the project so it's time to make space in the garage. I have done my utmost to ensure that nothing has got lost over the years, but I cannot guarantee that every little nut and bolt can be accounted for. What you see is what you get. The bike will come with an appropriate Owners Manual, official Honda Factory Service Manual and Parts Manual, as well as the relevant British Columbia legal documents and a transfer form. If you are in the US please confirm the bureaucracy you have to go through in your jurisdiction to get the bike through customs. The engine kicks over and seems to have good compression. I have replaced the left hand engine side cover with a NOS one. The odometer shows 9264 miles. The bodywork is sound. The tank shows no major dings and has the original sidepanels and kneepads. There is some flaking of the paint around the filler cap. The mudguards are sound with light rust on the undersides. The front one has had one of the stays re-welded. Apart from some minor dings they are in great shape. I had the seat recovered just after I got the bike. A major item which will need to be replaced is the exhaust system. At some point the bike has been over and the original pipes are scuffed and scratched. I have not been able to source CB replacements so my intent was to make the bike a CB/CL175 hybrid. Let me know if you want the CL exhaust/heatshield sent with the rest. You will need to get new tyres and a battery. Note that the handlebars are from a CL175. New items which are included to be fitted/installed: OEM aircleaners Switchgear. (You'll have to use the mounting screws from the old switchgear.) Wiring loom Turn signals Oil seal kit Fork seals Carb rebuild kit This model of CB175 was never fitted with a sidestand, but I have found one. You will have to fabricate a mounting bracket if you want to use it. SHIPPING: Please read the following carefully. I do not know where the bike will end up, or whether it will be picked up by a local buyer. I therefore will not know whether to build a shipping crate until the auction is over. The weight of all of the bits and pieces alone is approximately 290lbs. I do not know how much the crate will weigh. The local shipper has quoted an APPROXIMATE cost which works out to $2.10 per pound weight to ship to the US; $1.50 per pound weight to Canada. At the end of the auction I will build a shipping crate, as necessary, for the cost of materials ($100??). I will deliver the parts within 100 miles/160km for $50. I will make arrangements with the local shipper to pick up the crate. It will be your responsibility to pay the cost of shipping before I will release it.
