I see no logical need for that just as I wouldn't sell an event ticket on ebay and display a scanned copy of the ticket with a bar code. BMW tells me the car was built August of 1996. 1996 BMW Z-3 Roadster convertible with hard top option. As detailed below this is a convertible and the factory convertible top is stowed in it's normal open position when the hard top is installed. When you easily remove the hard top with the two latches behind the seats and two windshield post Allen screws you are ready to go topless. I purchased this BMW inspected Z3 at a BMW dealer in 2006 with 22,000 miles. It is a beautiful car with many features and is sure to please its next owner. The reason for selling is I upgraded to a larger Bimmer. If you are looking for a low mile, beautiful, original Z series BMW Roadster than look no further. This two owner beauty has only 27700 miles. The underside looks as though it has never seen road salt during its history and during the four year period owned by me, it has never even seen rain. It has no accident history and has all its original paint. No door dings. The front nose area has the usual paint chips and have been gently touched up. The underside of the front facia has minor scratches from the previous owner and are only visible from underneath. The rear facia has a small scuff on the lower right side. All hidden nicely first by location and the easily conceilable black touch up. Features: The convertible top fabric is beautiful and it appears to have never seen the sunlight. How do I know that? The back window is clear, flexible and has not yellowed. It has been stored retracted with the BMW felt protection properly placed inside the plastic window folds. We pulled it up a couple of times to apply BMW convertible top conditioner. The tan top saddle for cruising with the top down is included and like new. The car has the expensive and hard to find HARD TOP OPTION. The hard top exterior is excellent as is the headliner and electric grid style rear defogger. The tan interior is excellent with beautiful dark emerald green accents. The engine is a fuel injected 1.9 liter, inline aluminum head, twin cam (four valves per cylinder) four cylinder that looks and runs perfect. The transmission is the standard manual five speed. The clutch is original and has no mechanical issues. The Michelin tires are good with about half tread remaining and the wheels are excellent. The tires are freshly rotated and balanced. The engine oil was always changed at regular recommended intervals and it was driven up to normal operating temperature monthly in good weather. This car is not a "sitter". A/C blows cold with no unusual compressor noises. Four speed circulation fan AM/FM stereo cassette Digital clock Trunk light Hard to find optional console compartment with dual drink holder. Most Z3's don't have this and they are no longer available. Cruise control Fade style courtesy lights Door pocket storage bins Beautiful carpeting with new matching BMW Z3 carpeted mats Air bags Illuminated glove box Head rests and roll bar Power door/trunk locks Power steering with leather wrapped wheel Power windows Power Seats left and right Tachometer Passenger mirror Rear defogger on hard top. No door dings, the front of the vehicle has the usual amount of chips but I don't think it is worthy of replacing the original paint. The paint is excellent and has only been dried with soft micro fiber towels. There are minimal if any swirls from improper drying. If I don't receive a good will deposit after three days I will initiate the NPB strike process. Normal mature adult communication is also required of the winner. Bidders are welcome to inspect and drive this fine car. In fact you are encouraged to. You won't be disapointed. It is located about twenty five miles south of Chicago Midway airport. Please don't wave KBB at me. If you want to pay $7000-$8000 for a Z3 there are plenty of 40,000-100,000 mile examples available at that price. I gladly paid a premium price over KBB at BMW when I bought this car regardless of KBB and it still is an exceptional low mile example, these are hard to find. NOTE: Mileage will increase a small amount due to transportation to indoor storage, road tests, local driving to keep fluid circulation etc. If you decide to road test it the roads have to be salt and snow free.
