You are looking at a very nice classic ride. This 1960 Made in England Panther 120 has a rich history of fine quality construction with the powerful 650 cc engine taking you down the highway. This particular bike was owned by author, collector and adventurer David Manthey with a copy of the Wisconsin title involved on hand. The bike was purchased from his estate after his demise in 2007. Other bikes in his collection have sold in excess of $60,000! Manthey authored the book, Beyond My Wildest Dreams which depicts his life long story and the many travels with various motorcycles and cars throughout his storied life. The Panther bike on auction here is in great original condition right down to the original English inspection sticker on it dating back to 1963. The bike was very recently gone through with fresh chemicals, from oil to gasoline and starts and runs just fine. A new battery was just installed. Panther bikes were built in England from the early 20th century to 1967 and this model is an excellent example of a café racer era motorcycle similar to a Vincent, Norton or Triumph. This specific model had the largest engine of any Panther ever built with the 650 cc one cylinder engine. There is one side view mirror included in the listing….see pics. Again, the overall bike is in good original shape, not mint condition as if it was completely taken apart and restored, but good original shape with only 24,000 miles on the odometer.
