1979 Honda CR

A picture is worth a 1000 words, please see the photos. This is a no reserve auction, you bid it, you win it. 1979 Honda CR125 - bike is complete, straight & tight. The OEM original Honda claw action tires are still on it, which is a good indication of the very low use time that was on it prior to spending the last 25+ years in storage. The tires do have cracks from setting flat for so long but look good, hold air and operate as should. Rims are true with no cracks or dents. I installed the new plastic to replace the originals which were faded and scratched. I used 1980 CR125 side panels as I feel they look better and I have the white backgrounds and #9's to match the front. (included) I did not install these in case the buyer wants a different color background and number. The frame, motor and gas tank were repainted to match the shine of the new plastic. The original seat was replaced with an aftermarket one, the original had tears in it from years of "stuff" stacked on and around the bike. It originally had Fox Airshox which is why the fox decals and seat, I installed the original shocks that came with the bike. The airshox are not for sale. I removed the head and the bore is shiny chrome and the bike has exceptionally good compression. It came with a gold DG head, (the head is not for sale) I installed the original Honda head that came with the bike. The head gasket was replaced with an NOS Honda gasket. I had never started the bike in the year I have owned it until last week, it fired within 3-4 kicks and runs perfectly. Nice strong, crisp exhaust note, very little exhaust smoke. The clutch action is smooth and the transmission shifts through each gear as it would new. NOS (new old stock) items installed are: Grips, levers, head gasket, all engine case and cover bolts, seat bolts, shock bolts, chain, chain rollers and chain slider. The rubber cone on the throttle cable near the grip is cracked. The throttle action is smooth and snaps back as new. New aftermarket cables are available. It is missing the black plastic button on the choke lever, choke works as it should. The OEM exhaust (expansion chamber) has a minor, 50 cent piece size, of a ding on the side of it. (see photos) The rear brake pedal has some play in it and the fork tubes between the triple clamps have some minor pitting, the lower fork legs have normal surface oxidation for being 31 years old. A 100.00 deposit is due immediately after auction via paypal-the balance to be paid via check-money order, bank wire etc. Bike does not go anywhere until 100% of funds clear my bank account. Cash is appropriate if you pick it up. I can deliver in an enclosed trailer for a minimum of 50.00 and 1.00 per mile originating from zip code 16037 within 250 miles. Harmony PA is 25 miles north of Pittsburgh PA off of I-79. I am willing to crate and ship worldwide, I have done this several times and use my fedex account and ship it in 2 crates (engine seperate). It is much easier to get through customs and less expensive this way. I recently sent a Honda to the UK for less than $500 in total shipping, including the crate. (It arrived within 7 days) The last photo is a Honda MR crated up, (prior to be enclosed) for shipment to England. Just to show you how the bike is crated for shipment within the US or worldwide.
