FINAL LISTING!!!! CAR WAS SOLD.........BIDDER DID NOT PAY!!! You are looking at a very nice 1967 Volkswagen Beetle being offered at a ridiculously low opening bid with NO RESERVE!! Do not make any offers lower than the opening bid and no trades!! This car has gone through extensive work over the past four years, from front and rear floor pan replacement to a thorough paint job inside and out. The car has been in the family for about 30 years and well taken care of. The engine was rebuilt by a local VW shop about four years ago. The overall car has 85,000 miles on it and starts and runs great! The front brakes and ball joints were replaced over the past year and the battery was just replaced a few weeks ago. The transmission and shifter feel very well with no issues to discuss. Some other items replaced were the gas tank, carburetor, tires and electric windshield wiper motor. One of the rare features on this car is a gas heater, something that anyone familiar with VW’s normal heating system knows lacks any real heat, while this system will blow you out of the vehicle with warmth. I have not tried it, but the owner assures me it is complete and does work. Some minor issues................. While the car starts, runs and drives very well, there are few issues with the car such as: The hub caps are slightly dimpled. The back of the right side view mirror is rusted despite being only four years old as are part of the front bumperettes. The cardboard panel that goes behind the dash to cover up the wiring is missing and the cardboard glove box has a large hole in it, both items are easily replaceable and inexpensive. The original radio is included in the listing but does not turn on. Not sure if it is the radio itself or a fuse or ?? While the paint job overall is OK, there are few places on it that I would call ‘splochy’. Could they be compounded out to blend in? Perhaps. There are no dents or dings. Pics of how the floor pans were replaced are available upon request. The drivers door panel above the door pocket has a small rip, about 1"...not difficult to repair.
