Rare 1956 Chrysler New Yorker Newport 2 door hardtop. One of only 4115 produced. (There were over 6800 St. Regis 2 doors built). Has most options, including leather and cloth interior (available at SMS in Portland, Oregon area); power windows, power seat, town and country radio, Hemi engine. Car was found in a lien holding yard in San Bernardino, California. It had been picked up off the street in 1975, and was in the yard for 26 years. It has very little rust, and would be an easy restoration. Driver front floorboard has some minor rust through. New floorboard panel included. This coupe was sold new in California, original dealer license plate frames are still on the car, (Cyril Cooke Chrysler/Plymouth of Anaheim, Calif.). Yellow plates on the car do not go. Have the original black plates that were on the car when I purchased. Vin number on this car indicates it was built in the Los Angeles assembly plant. Color is white over medium non metallic turquoise. This coupe has the optional St. Regis exterior trim, including additional stainless mouldings. Interior was turquoise cloth inserts with leather bolsters. Transmission is powerflite 2 speed automatic. Engine is original, and runs very well after lifters quiet down after about 10 seconds. Driver's door glass is cracked. Needs a complete rewire job. A number of parts are included with this vehicle upgrading the existing parts currently on the car. (Included are a gray dash pad, restored steering wheel and horn ring. Also NOS backup light lenses, metal panel for floorboard, extra door panel, better inside rearview mirror, outside rear view mirror, right door panel, front bumper, extra power window switches, plus more miscellaneous parts). This car needs a complete restoration, but would be a stunning car at the end of the restoration.
