This auction is for an excellent untouched original 1972 Chevy Caprice 4 door hardtop (also called a Sport Sedan) with 76,662 original miles. It is equipped with a BIG BLOCK 400 engine (stampings on the block: 10908CTB & 120122344) with a 4 barrel Quadrajet carburetor and factory dual exhaust, Turbo 400 automatic, power steering, power brakes (disc front, drum rear), air conditioning, heavy duty cooling (4 row radiator), heavy duty sport suspension, cruise control, tilt steering, power door locks, AM 8 track sterio radio. It has the original paint which is in a very good condition and shines very nicely considering that it is almost 40 years old!! The color is Gulf Green Metallic, code 43 and has a matching green vinyl top which is also in a very nice condition. The interior is super nice with matching green cloth and green carpet (showing some wear on the drivers side sill and some minor sun fading) and it has the original GM green floor mats (missing one for the rear). Headliner is excellent along with the door panels. The dash pad has NO cracks. Everything works except for the clock. The AC works but needs some additional freon. Trunk is excellent. I have a new trunk mat. All of the glass is in excellent condition. I removed the backglass and had it tinted to protect the interior from the sun and then reinstalled with the correct type installation kit. The car was purchased new by the previous owner's parents at Hormel Chevrolet in McCook Nebraska in 1972. The parents passed away several years ago and I purchased the car from their daughter. It runs a drives fantastic!! Very fast!! The engine runs strong and the transmission shift flawlessly. The previous owner had installed new brakes, shock absorbers and an exhaust system. The hoses and belts look like new and new tires (Firestone 225 75R 15) were installed 11,000 miles ago back in 1999. As I stated earlier, this is an untouched original and there are no hidden problems. What you see is what you get!! It has a few minor areas that will need attention. The daughter's mother dented the right front fender one day putting it in the garage and that was the last time she drove the car (that was in about 2000). There is a small rust areas showing in the lower rear of each front fender and in both rear dog legs and one on the right rear quarter behind the wheel. These could be repaired with no problem. I have pictures which I will be glad to send on request. I have decided to sell the car because of other projects that have taken priority. I really hate to sell it because it is such a wonderful car but I guess that has to happen. I wouldn't be afraid to drive this car anywhere because it runs so strong!!
