Extremely Rare Dodge Aspen Sport Wagon Nice Car By Bidding On This Item, You Are Accepting Our Full Terms Of Sale and Shipping Policy. This listing is for a very rare 1979 Dodge Aspen Sport Wagon. The sport package, of which there were only around 200 produced, consists of wheel opening flares and a front spoiler like the Dodge Aspen R/T or the Plymouth Volare Road Runner; yellow and orange tape stripes on the front spoiler, upper body / side wheel-opening molding and liftgate; a blacked out grille; dual body colored sports mirrors; premium vinyl bucket seats with a center armrest; Tuff steering wheel; cargo compartment carpeting; lockable storage bins and five-spoke road wheels with trim rings. Initially it was available in only four colors: Regent Red Sunfire Metallic, Sable Tan Sunfire Metallic, White, and Black. As seen in the photos, this one is white which is one of the most rare. This Sport Wagon is a well-equipped car, and in addition to the above package, it also has the optional 318 V-8 engine, automatic transmission, air conditioning, center console, gold cast aluminum road wheels, and an AM-FM stereo w/8 track player. HISTORY: This particular Sport Wagon was scheduled to be built on Thursday, December 7, 1978 at the Hamtramck assembly plant in Detroit, Michigan. Once completed, it was shipped to Tri City Dodge in Mid West City, Oklahoma and was to be used as their showroom display car. On August 31, 1979 the car was purchased by the original owner who's family owned the car until 2000 when it was purchased by a friend and neighbor who was the car's previous owner. CONDITION: As shown in the photos, this car is in great condition for being 30 years old. It has some minor scuffs and very small dings associated with age, but there is no major or notable damage or rust. The dash has a few cracks and the headliner is starting to droop a little bit in the rear but is minor. The car has never been wrecked. Aside from some touch up on the hood and the front spoiler being repainted, the paint on this car is all original and in good condition for its age. Other than the tires, battery, muffler, and a few miscellaneous items under the hood, the car is completely original and untouched. The mileage and maintenance history is well documented with many receipts, all of which are included for the buyer's records. Up until September of 1993, the wagon was used sparingly and had only been driven 26,700 miles. The remainder of the miles were put on the car through the late 90's. The car still runs and drives great and the A/C blows cold. One thing it will need is a new set of tires as they have aged and are showing some cracks. However, if the "Buy it Now" feature is used, a new set of tires will be installed before pickup at no extra charge.
