Vehicle Detail

You are looking at a 69 Lincoln Continental Mark III. Drive line is original 460 / 365 HP with 10 ½ to 1 compression. Tranny is the big C-6. Rear is 9” Ford with 2.80 posi. There is just under 100k on the odometer. This car was in storage since 1987. It needs work but does start, stop and drive. To get it to this point, a lot of expensive work has already been done. The gas tank has been professionally cleaned. The sending unit rebuilt. Carburetor rebuilt. New fuel pump, voltage regulator, alternator and battery. In the near future, it will need a water pump and the box that controls the heater / A/C. The box smells hot if you turn the heater on. The A/C compressor worked fine but was removed to get at the fuel pump. I think if you re-installed it and charged the system, it would work. Because I’ve not tested this car other than 4 mile loops near my house, this car must be hauled. I don’t think the water pump would make more than a 10 mile trip. Car runs nice but does develop a stumble after strong acceleration. The car rides like it’s on air. It drives super smooth. Handles nice. Brakes work but are a little spongy. The exhaust system is solid & quite. The head light doors work. The tires look like new. The floors and frame are solid. The 1/4s show signs of past body work that is starting to bubble. The trunk lid has a few pin holes. The doors and front fenders are solid. The chrome is very nice. On a scale of 1 to 10, the bumpers are an 8 & the trim a 9. The interior color is very dark green. It’s dirty and shows light ware. The interior needs a few pieces re-installed but it’s all there. A past owner removed the driver side door seal. That needs replaced. Past owner removed vinyl roof. I painted black just to protect it. I am including the shop manual on CD (a $54 value). The factory AM/FM doesn’t work. The power windows and seats work some times…. and sometimes they don’t. It depends on the lunar faze (LOL). The more I drive it, the more things start to work again. That’s what this car really needs. Someone to love and drive it. I’ve got 2 other projects going right now and no time to finish this one. At the minimum bid of $1200, I ain’t making a nickel. IF IT DOES NOT SELL, I’M PARTING IT OUT. I know that’s a shame but I’m getting my money out of it one way or another.
