ONE SWEET 1967 TRIUMPH HEROLD 1200 SPORT CONVERTIBLE. I BOUGHT THIS CAR FROM THE ORIGINAL OWNER WHO PARKED IT IN HIS GARAGE FOR 27 YEARS. IT BELONGED TO HIS WIFE AND SHE PUT 47K ON IT IN EUROPE BEFORE SHIPPING IT TO THE STATES. IT ORIGINALLY WAS PURCHASED BY THEM IN MADRID SPAIN. I HAVE THE ORIGINAL TITLE FROM COVENTRY ENGLAND. THERE IS ALSO A NOTRE DAME STICKER IN THE WINDOW. SO COOL! I WAS LUCKY TO BUY IT AND THEN TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC FRIEND OF MINE FOR EVALUATION. HE PERFORMED MAINTENANCE ON THE CAR AND FIXED ALOT OF LITTLE THINGS, SUCH AS THE CARBURATOR, FLUSHED ALL THE LINES AND THE RADIATOR, WORKED ON THE BRAKES, ETC., EVERYTHING THAT A CAR THAT HAS SAT FOR 27 YEARS WOULD NEED. I SPENT ABOUT $800 ON THE CAR WITH HIM. THEN, I MET THE TRIUMPH EXPERT HERE IN TOWN AND BECAME FRIENDS WITH HIM, REALLY, BECAUSE OF THE CAR. HE LOVED IT. HE DID OVER 40 ITEMIZED THINGS TO THE CAR SOME OF WHICH ARE : TUNED THE ENGINE, TROUBLESHOOT AND REPAIR LIGHTING AND ELECTRICAL, REMOVE AND REPLACE HEATER CONTROL VALVE, REPAIR AND ADJUST REAR BRAKES AND HANDBRAKE, INSTALL MOTOR MOUNTS, RADIATOR, AND THERMOSTAT HOUSING, CLEAN AND REPACK FRONT WHEEL BEARINGS, REPLACE BOTH HORNS WITH NEW ONES, RADIATOR CAP WITH 180 DEGREE THERMOSTAT, UPPER RADIATOR HOSE. ALSO, HE INSTALLED POINT AND CONDENSER SET, DISTRIBUTOR CAP AND ROTOR, IGNITION WIRE SET, SPARK PLUGS, WATER PUMP AND HOUSING, FAN BELT, AND AND NEW BATTERY. I HAD NEW CARPETS INSTALLED, NEW STEEL RADIAL TIRES INSTALLED, TOTALLY CLEANED THE UPHOLSTERY AND PUT A NEW PLASTIC BACK WINDOW IN THE CONVERTIBLE TOP BECAUSE THE OLD ONE WAS DISCOLORED. CAR IS NOW TRULY ROAD WORTHY AND LOTS OF FUN TO DRIVE. INTERIOR, TOP, AND DASH ARE EXTREMELY NICE AND ORIGINAL. THE TOP IS SOFT AND SUPPLE AND FOLDS DOWN EASILY. I ALSO HAVE THE ORIGINAL BOOT AND TONNEAU COVER IN EXCELLENT CONDITION THAT COMES WITH THE CAR. AFTER GETTING ALL THESE REPAIRS FINISHED, I WAS DRIVING THE CAR AND THE SPEEDO CABLE BROKE. ALSO BREAKING THE SPEEDOMETER. MY FRIEND AT TRIUMPH WORLD SERVICES, WHO HAD DONE THE OTHER WORK ON THE CAR, INSTALLED A BRAND NEW NOS SPEEDOMETER. HE REMARKED AT HOW MIRACULOUS IT WAS THAT HE HAPPENED TO HAVE A NOS SPEEDOMETER THAT WENT FOR THIS CAR. I HAVE KEPT THE OLD SPEEDOMETER WITH THE ORIGINAL MILES SHOWING A LITTLE OVER 48K MILES AND HAVE HAD THE ORIGINAL OWNER WRITE OUT A STATEMENT STATING ACTUAL MILES WHEN SOLD TO ME OF 47953. LOOK AT ALL THE PICS!! THIS CAR IS NOW A JEWEL. THE WOOD IS WONDERFUL AND THE CHROME IS SHINY. THIS CAR IS EXTREMELY NICE.
