Vehicle Detail

PLEASE READ ENTIRE LISTING AS THINGS MAY HAVE CHANGED SINCE LAST LISTING. (drivers side window stopped working) PLEASE READ: sorry if this sounds harsh, but I've had a lot of problems with this kinda stuff lately. Bidders with a feedback score of 10 or less please e-mail me BEFORE bidding. I'm sorry but I will retract any bids from anyone with a low feedback score, or a feedback of 10 or less if no contact. I've had way too many non-paying bidders lately with no contact. SERIOUS BIDDERS ONLY PLEASE. If you do not intend to buy, don't have the money, or do not understand how the e-bay system works PLEASE don't bid. ALL NON-PAYING BIDDERS ARE REPORTED TO EBAY (this is the only way I can get a refund for the final value fees I pay when the item gets a bid) THE VAN IS IN VIRGINIA (please check mapquest before you bid to see how far you will have to drive. You can pick it up in zip code 24014. Roanoke VA.) OK now that that is out of the way...Up for auction is my 1988 GMC Vandura Conversion Van. I bought this van aprox 5 years ago when my wife and I were working for a healthcare stafing company. we did short term contracts at different hospitals, and would change locations every 3-6 months. The van came in really handy for us (lots of long drives) I'd planned on keeping it and fixing it up a bit nicer/ painting it etc...and keeping it for long trips, but now that we've settled down I've found I just don't have the time. We have regular jobs, and are expecting our first child (there go the long trips). So the van needs to go. It's our third vehicle and we don't really need it now. I took it off the road at the end of last month (when the tags expired) It was previously tagged in TN and did not require an inspection sticker. We now live in VA, and I decided to sell the van rather than go thru the hassle and expense of titling and inspecting it here then only using it occasionally ( I would need to replace tires and windshield to pass inspection here). Last month I took the van on a 3 hour trip and it still performed well. On average I drove it a couple of times per week. It's not much to look at on the outside, but the interior is in good shape and it rides increadible well. I used it to tow my boat a few times and it tows like a dream. I'll try to list everything in detail below. Please read the entire listing before you bid, and e-mail me if you have any questions. All in all this could make someone a great vehicle at a great price. This is a full size 1988 GMC VANDURA 2500 Conversion Van. Conversion by Roman Wheels It is Blue and Gray with Blue interior. It seats 7. The engine is a Fuel Injected 8 cycl. 350 with an Automatic Trans. with overdirve. There is a hitch for towing, but you will need your own reciever/ball. Power Locks, Power Doors, Cass. Player AM/FM, Air. there is aprox. half a tank of fuel in the tank. No one has smoked in the van since we have had it (I believe the previous owners didn't either but can't be 100% sure) When we bought it the previous owner had just replaced the Engine and Transmission with newly rebuilt ones. They have around 80K on them currently. We replaced a few things and made some repairs ourselves. the following are 5yrs old or less: computer, exhaust system (pipes and muffler), Battery, rear brakes/parking brake cable, lug nuts (and several lug bolts), and low beam headlights. power window switch. horn. windshield washer motor. There are a few things that the van WILL need. The windshield needs replaced due to a significant growing crack. The tires will need to be replaced, and the front brakes are ready to be changed. The drivers side window will not roll down-pretty sure it's the window motor (I checked the switch and it's working) also the plastic overflow container for the radiator has a crack in it. Some things I'm honestly not sure about that it MIGHT need, or may need in the future: I've noticed a vibration upon hard braking that may mean the brake rotors need resurfaced/replaced soon , I haven't inspected them, it may just be the pads but I wanted to mention it for completions sake. I recharged the air last summer and it worked fine all season, haven't checked it this year it may need recharged. The cruise control may or may not work (I haven't tried/used it since replacing the computer) There is some noise that comes from the spedometer cable but the spedometer seems to be accurate (I've checked it against my GPS). If you suddenly accelerate rapidly (litterally stomp the petal to the floor) you may cause the check engine light to illuminate (it goes off next time you stop and restart van) too much gas too quickly confuses the sensor since the rebuild. COSMETIC STUFF: The blue paint is flaking off on multiple areas . there are a couple of spots of rust starting around the windshield that need to be sanded off and primered (nothing structural). On the other hand the carpet and seats are in fantastic condition for the age. I've steam cleaned the carpet/seats about 6 months ago. There are a few things cosmetic things I'll mention. the drivers floormat is ripped (not the carpet, just the removable floor mat) the curtains are faded and need to be removed/replaced/ pinned up, the TV and VCR were not working and have been removed. the interior lights in the back do not work (the front do) I've simply used stick up battery powered lights if I needed them. The rear seat lays down into a bed, but the power switch did not work. My solution for this was to attach a good lenght of wire to the seat's motor wires and when I wanted to change from seat to bed I'd open the doors and touch the wires to my car battery (reverse the wires to go from bed to seat) there should be enough wire to reach the vans own battery. This is prob. an easy fix with a 3 way switch, but I usually did not change positions that often. The rear air does not work, and the knob that controlls it has broken off and fallen behind the dash leaving a nickle sized hole. The spare tire cover is cracked/ has a small piece missing, and finally I lost a center cap (small hub cap) on one of the front tires, the wheel bearing cap also came off but I have repacked the bearings with grease and replace it with a new cap. The wheel is in need of a good cleaning with a degreaser as you can tell from the picture. The Van is located in Roanoke VA (zip 24014) aprox 20 min. from I-81. The title is clear and on hand. I require a $300 deposit and contact within 36 hours of the end of auction. Any Non-paying bidders are reported to e-bay and the item will be relisted if no contact. The blance is due at pick up of vehicle. Or If you would prefer to pay everything up front I am willing to securely mail the title to you and you can obtain new title/tags at your home DMV office, bring them with you and drive it home.
