Up for auction is a 1966 Gasoline Unimog 404.1 Radio Box. The Radio Box has been converted to a camper with two bench seats that fold down into a bed. Included is an internal ac inverter running separately from the Unimog starter circuit. The clutch is basically brand new with less than 500 miles on it. This was replaced by Red Label Automotive & Offroad of Vacaville, CA in 2011. The vehicle also has new Amsoil fluid in the axle hubs, the transmission, differentials and Motul in the engine. Coolant is clean and topped up. The truck has been sitting since 2011, was started once in 2015 and currently resides in a storage facility in Redwood City. Due to how long it has been sitting, the tires are invariably flat yet should pump up readily with the included tire pump. The batteries are also running low or flat. The Unimog has two functional problems, the major one is a slow leak in the brake system and a broken left rear bleeder nipple which should readily be removed using the correct easy-out. The vehicle is easily stopped using the hand brake if traveling at very slow speeds. The second problem is the wiring to the windshield wipers was damaged during installation of the new clutch but a grounding cable from the battery box is provided for the driver side. An additional problem is that the speedometer does not function yet does not affect drivability. The gas gauge does function properly as does the blower. The canvas top has also deteriorated. The Unimog includes the Swingfire heater yet functionality has yet to be tested. I am trying to stop paying rent for storage and also I am located in Washington, D.C. and am unable to assist with the sale in person.
