If you are looking for a genuine European truck, here it is. This Volkswagen Doppelkabine (DOKA) 2.4 liter diesel has a sound that is unique to German vehicles. The vehicle’s unique appearance also lends to its curb appeal and its 1.0 ton carrying capability adds to its versatility as a reliable truck. The vehicle is currently registered in Vermont and is easily transferable to any US State. After the initial wait for the glow plugs, the engine typically starts on the first try and runs well. The DOKA will achieve close to 30 mpg on the highway and it does pretty good in the city as well. The interior is all original and overall, in very good condition. The driver's side and passenger side front seats are in good condition with some seam separation on both and a crack in the driver seat (Please reference the attached photos).The back bench seat is in very good to near perfect condition. Under the rear bench seat there is also a large storage compartment which could easily accommodate anything from groceries to tools. The accompanying photos will be of assistance in displaying the overall condition of the vehicle’s interior. As seen in the photos, the exterior is very clean. the truck was used as such in Germany and has some small scratches and one narrow dent along the back roof line of about 4.5 inches. The referenced dent is not punctured or rusting. Just a narrow dent. There is no rust through anywhere on the truck. The original paint is in good to very good condition. The body does not require any immediate attention.The step-ups into the cab on both sides are in very good condition, basically no rust (please reference the applicable photos). The bed of the truck measures measures roughly 7ft x 6ft. The wooden floor of the bed is in very good condition and has been recently repainted. The side boards of the truck bed can be folded down to convert the truck into a flatbed for easy loading and offloading of material. When lowered the tailgate has a factory installed "Step Up" step that allows for easy access to the truck bed. The side boards also have retainer hooks and attachments that could easily accommodate a protective tarp.As mentioned earlier, mechanically, the truck runs well. This vehicle could be used as a daily driver if so desired. The truck has a five speed manual transmission. The speedometer works fine. The actual mileage/kilometers indicated on the speedometer is 154319 km or 95,696 miles. As you may know, the anticipated life expectancy for a VW 2.4 liter 5 cylinder Diesel is much more than the accumulated amount. The engine does not leak or use oil. Once again, for the age of the vehicle, leaking any type of fluid is truly amazing and a testimonial to the durability of the VW 2.4 liter diesel engine! The timing belt, water pump, idler pulleys and remaining belts were changed out around 73,000 miles. Thus there is about 22,000 miles on the belts. Timing belts typically have a lifetime of 80,000 miles. Plenty of miles to go!There is 5/16 inches of tread left on the tires. Once again, plenty of miles left to go! The DOKA has a Clarion radio but it tends to work when it wants to! It would best if replaced. The vehicle comes with a copy of the owner’s manual in German. The VIN shown in the header is a placeholder since the eBay system is not set-up to accommodate European VINs. The actual VIN is WV2ZZZ70ZNH086742. Naturally because of its age (26years), the vehicle is being sold without any guarantees. Registration transfer at the time of sale and the transfer of the vehicle to the new owner’s residence will be the financial responsibility of the purchaser.
