1978 Porsche 928 nice rot free AZ CAR This is a a project car meaning at the moment its not currently running. The car came with a folder of reciepts dating back to the late 90s. In 2003 with about 104k on the car the motor needed to be replaced. The receiepts contain pics of a motor being rebuilt ! and there is also a receipt for a used motor too. Story from the last owner is, he bought a used motor, had it rebuilt and then installed. There was a wiring fire or melt down under the dash for some reason, and when that happened, the last owner just gave up and let it sit. Its been sitting now for about 15 yrs here in the dry AZ Climate. The car is a totally rust and rot free AZ Porsche, hands down. Super clean body. BRIEF DESCRIPTION: great body / had a color change from I think was silver, to RED back in the early 90s. Actually a nice job, much of the car taken apart and all the jambs etc done well. Az sun has taken its toll on it. It is a single stage paint. No signs of any bodywork or repairs done ever. Someone started taking the wiring out from under the dash to repair and try and get running once the motor was put back in. The motor should be fine and trans as well. It may just be a used motor or it could be totally rebuilt. Ive got pics that come with the car and last owners story, tend to back things up. Cant say 100% because I didnt do it. Rolls , steers and brakes fine. If the motor is okay, finish building it and have a cool car. SURE, shoot me a fair offer DRIVETRAIN: the factory V8 Porsche drivetrain is under the hood matted to the auto trans. Reference to what has been done to it is in the above description. I truly believe it to be okay. Trans and rearend should also be fine too. Brakes work and has a decent set of Phone Dial wheels all around. Factory AC car. INTERIOR: take a look, Az heat has done some heat and normal wear n tear damage. Dash isnt too bad, and front seats are actually in great shape. Rest of it needs work. PW car and has factory AC too. Zero rust on the floors and or rockers. 107k on the odometer, shows original miles on the AZ title. Remember its a project car.EXTERIOR: the body again, is VERY straight for its age. Paint done back in the 90s - color change is fading . If you like some patina, you could prob buff most of it out or leave it as is for a sleeper. (after you LS Swap it haha) S4 wing was added about 20 yrs ago. Body lines look great all around, all the glass is in good shape. SUSPENSION: the suspension looks normal and very original for its age. Its not restored, but probably be okay with a little resto on the bushings etc. 4 wheel factory Disc all around is all there and accounted for. I see normal wear n tear at best and OEM components where they belong too. I See zero signs of any rust or rot. Having as much as the original steel on a restored car speaks volumes. Also, if you buy a car thats been "restored", who knows what surprises are hidden under new paint or thick undercoating. People are flipping cars all the time when most of the jobs are fast, for a quick buck and quality suffers.
