Vehicle Detail

Last of the carbureted Mustangs! "Four eyed" Fox body 1985 in excellent +++ condition, $10,500 or best offer. As close to Show-Room condition as you will find! I am the second owner, purchased when she was 1 year old specifically to get the last carbureted model. She spent her first 2 years in Michigan, then Virginia through the end of use as my dailey driver and transition into my collection. Then to Minnesota (where she was stored every winter with the rest of the collection) and now Houston. Selling her as collection has gotten too large to maintain (22 vehicles) and we don't get her out much anymore (four convertibles are getting all the use down here) so would rather someone use and appreciate her. Clean Carfax, clear Minnesota title in my name. Power steering/brakes, manual windows/locks/seats, AM/FM Cassette premium stereo, factory Marchal fog lights with covers. Everything works. Even has a working aim-able map light and the factory privacy shade in the rear cargo area! Includes Ford OEM Mustang car cover with logo on front and license plate window in back. Strong runner, smooth shifting 5 speed with 3.08 Traction Lok rear end, excellent rubber, fresh OEM shocks and quad shocks all the way around. Replaced the A arms (complete with bushings/balls) with Ford OEM units, new tie rod ends and sway bar links. Rides and handles like brand new (and I should know!). Paint, headliner, carpet new a few years ago. No rust on her ever - dealer rustproofed and carefully cared for. Only repainted because the factory paint was getting thin and chalky. AC converted to R134a (with all new hoses, accumulator, condenser, flushed and fresh oil) and blows COLD! I did make a couple changes from '85 stock using parts from an '89 wreck I found in a Virginia junkyard:Replaced the 7.5" rear end (known weak spot in '79 through '85 Mustangs) with the 8.8" unit from '89, same gear ratio and same quad-shock suspension - a bolt-in.Replaced the single center pipe in the exhaust with a true dual H pipe from the '89, required using the '89 headers and cross member. Now true dual exhaust but still Ford stock (for '89) and made a noticeable improvement in power and sound. Only issues with the car are some cracking in the rubber side moldings, only noticeable very close up (and there are reproductions available from CJPony or Latemodel Mustang Restoration), some small marks in the hood decal, road rash on the clear coat of the wheels (could be restored), some staining on the cargo area carpet, and a single cigarette burn in the velour of the passenger seat where my dad, God rest his soul, dropped the cigarette out of his mouth the first time I punched it hard in 1986 - and it hasn't been smoked in since then!
