Vehicle Detail
Hi, I have my 01 F650GS for sale. 33K miles (will go up, I still ride it), just had brake pads changed, the spark plug changed, and an oil change within last 1k miles. Have you ever thought to yourself "Gee whillickers, I'd love to traverse the rugged Saddleback mountain range today" or "I fancy a motorcycle ride to Cape Horn"? Well if you have, well, at least the first one, have I got the Adventure bike for you! Not only will this run you to Starbucks where you can look cool with your adventure gear, it will also take you up dirt roads like a mountain goat. Have you ever thought to yourself, "I love motorcycles but most aren't yellow enough"? WHOAHOHO have I got AMAZING news for you. This bike is YELLOW. Like canary yellow. Like stare at it too long and you'll need sunglasses yellow. Like if you threw this motorcycle in a giant box with a bunch of lemons you wouldn't be able to find it yellow. One thing is for certain, you'll know which bike is yours in a parking lot. It's the ridiculous yellow BMW. Is 95 MPH too fast for you? Great news! This bike won't go much above 90. Do you like gas mileage? Great! Because this gets 45ish mpg around town! How about squishy handle bar head smack avoidance things? Because this bike has one of those too! Do you like uncommon, obscure BMW motorcycles? Good, because these are fairly uncommon in the good ol' US of A. Now for the price, you COULD go get a KLR650. Or a Honda whocareswhatitscalled enduro bike. But are either of those made in Austria, where it smells like chocolate and lederhosen? Didn't think so. If you buy this I may even throw in a pack of Bratwurst so you can adjust to your new Bavarian lifestyle. On top of that, you can turn your nose up at all the commoners that aren't riding around on the pinnacle of luxury and style that is the F650GS. Now on a more serious note; The bike was dropped while motionless in the dirt when I was trying to go up a hill with not enough traction (Hell Hill in Trabuco canyon if you're curious), hence the chewed up end of the grip/clutch lever. The paint is in good shape too, plenty of gloss, I just polished and waxed it. There are a couple scuffs, and the stickers are starting to fade, however. Tires have plenty of tread left on them. No ABS issues, in fact I just rebuilt the front master cylinder and did a pad change/fluid flush. The bike has a very odd stumble only in 2nd gear between 3k and 4500 rpm above 50% throttle, I suspect it's a fuel delivery issue, but it doesn't really bug me all that much. Tail light is from a Ducati Scrambler and functions just like the OEM one, which I still have. I thought the factory one was ugly so I replaced it. The right side mirror also broke off when I was tightening it, so it'll need a new mount. The mirror itself is fine. If you want to schedule a test ride, send me a message, and I can arrange something with you. Bike is located in southern California, and has a current registration.
