Vehicle Detail

I am offering a 2009 Ford Taurus SEL, all wheel drive. You will be unstoppable in snow in this car, I can almost guarantee it. Email me with your phone number if you want to arrange a test drive. Car has 120667 miles at the time of this listing. It is driven every week so that mileage may go up slightly. I apologize for the tree buds that you see fallen on the car, but it is parked outside so that is unavoidable. The car starts, drives, and shifts perfectly as if it was new. The air conditioning is ice cold and the heat works perfectly as well. This car runs, drives, and is fully insured, but is not registered at the moment. I can only offer you a test drive on my street unless you want to pay to register it or bring a proper license plate. I absolutely love driving this but our family is growing and we need larger vehicles. I have kept up with constant maintenance until I stopped driving this car often when I got an SUV. I have most of the repair records going back five years or so. Most recent is a new battery in January. All work was performed by a licensed repair shop and not some guy in his garage while having beers on a Saturday afternoon. I have seen cars with repairs that you wouldn’t believe being sold on eBay and Craigslist. I have records of each oil change and which filter was used. In order to pass Vermont inspection (your state may be different), the car would need exhaust leak repair and new tires. This car is loud due to the exhaust leaks. The tires on it are still snow tires from the winter and would be fine for casual driving. You would need new tires to pass this state’s inspection. One section of the exhaust needs to be replaced because there is a hole in the “flex pipe”. Another section needs to be replaced but I am not sure where that is. This is a nine-year-old car so it has dents, dings, and scratches. There is no rot and only surface rust. The rear bumper has a crack in the left side (see photos), and it is not bad enough to fail inspection. This car was owned and used by a family with small children, as a result the interior has stains and spots here and there. I have cleaned the car and vacuumed it out but some of the stains are still there. You are not bidding on a super clean show car here, this car is used and it looks used. As far as I know, everything inside the car works except for the stereo and CD player. It has a 6-disc in-dash CD player and one of the CDs is stuck so I pulled the fuse to disable it. You can probably fix that yourself if you know how, or just buy a new stereo. You can accelerate like you would not believe with the 3.5L V6 engine that’s in this car. It is on par with a small sports car and handles like one also. Visibility is great and you can slice through highway traffic like a Corvette. The trunk is huge and the rear seats fold forward one at a time so you can fit a large piece of cargo as well as passengers. There are Weathertech custom floor mats for the front seats of the car, these are the heavy-duty winter ones that keep snow and dirt confined to the mat and they work very well, just shake them clean or hose them down. I purchased them in 2014. Some more details: Public safety response equipment is fitted to the car and will be removed unless the buyer can prove the need for it. There are Code 3 lights on the grille and rear deck, and a Federal Signal SS2000 siren/light controller with Dynamax speaker. The two way radio installed in the car is not for sale and will be removed regardless of who purchases it. There are two NMO antenna mounts on the trunk lid, which could be used for cell phone or GPS antennas. My wife and I are on-call fire and rescue and have used the vehicle for responding to nearby calls. It has never seen pursuit or patrol use. On Jul-15-18 at 11:34:30 PDT, seller added the following information: INFO ADDED 07/15/2018 at 1430 Eastern time: Someone asked a very good question of why the car needed a new battery in January. I stopped daily driving this car in November. I found that if you don't drive this car at least once a week, the battery dies. I have never owned a car that sat for a week before so it may just be due to when it was sitting unused. I had the alternator tested and it is working fine. I was told not to allow the battery to get low more than a couple times or it will be damaged, so I am hoping the problem was just a defective battery. There is a chance that something in the car is or was taking power from the battery when it is turned off, but I don't know if that is the case here. Thank you.
