The trim tag and original build sheet both show "---" where your normally would see CC1, which is the RPO code for T-Tops. From American Classic cars...."This is a very rare car. It's been said it's 1 of only 25 known to exist." Seven Hills Motorcars...."It is rumored That there are only 8 such SE's made with the special order t-top delete." Either way this car is especially rare. According to Pontiac, all 1979 Y84's had T-tops.This numbers matching Trans Am is very stock in appearance and features the very sought after WS6 performance and handling package with 4 wheel disc brakes. This Trans Am has had one repaint and is very solid with great lines. It looks great, runs great, and is fun to drive. This is an excellent opportunity to own a classic Trans Am that is ready to be used and enjoyed at an unbeatable value. One could easily buy this car now and sell it for more than the purchase price in years to come. This Trans Am is finished in the beautiful and desirable color combinations of Starlight Black with SE pinstripes over Black Hobnail cloth interior. This Trans Am is a 403/auto "numbers matching." In terms of value this is a very important factor and will become more vital in the years to come as the car gets older. Most importantly the engine is original to the car. The last six digits of the VIN, 169573, are stamped on the engine block and pictured below indicating that this is the original engine that was installed in the car brand new at the factory. The transmission is also numbers matching with the last 6 digits of the VIN stamped on the main case.Its a great drivers car that could use a freshen up. The pictures make it look really good but the paint is starting to show its age. Only minimal damage on the car is the passenger front fender/bumper rub mark. The dash bezel was restored by Randy C. Many new parts installed, most parts that were replaced are included also. A/C has been converted over to r34 but still needs charged. The master cylinder/brake booster/all caliper/pads,shocks, tires are new. The brakes stop but are soft. I do have the PHS, buildsheet, and window sticker.
