Vehicle Detail
This is a BARN FIND 1965 Honda CB450 Black Bomber. I found it in a cabinet makers shop in West Texas, dusty and dirty and neglected for many years. I cleaned out the carbs and kicked it over (started right up). Bike is in overall good shape with some parts and hardware missing. Please study the pictures and ask any and all questions you might have. Please keep in mind that this is barn fresh. I did my utmost to not disturb the condition it was in as it was not touched since 1971. SEE VIDEO OF IT RUNNING AT: https://youtu.be/DhKWK4wudk8 Keep in mind that this is the first time it has ran since 1971. I did not tune it or install new points etc... This is a NON-numbers matching bike. The frame has a CL72 vin number (and CL71 front end) and the motor is the original 1965 CB450. Engine is in great shape and did not make any foul noises and it has great compression. The motor does not seem to have ever been apartThe rims are in great shape and just need a cleaning (front rim, forks, and brake are off a CL72)Headers/down pipes are in great shapeCarbs are in great shape with no stripped screws or missing bits (the left custom boot is missing)Tank has a few small dents and is clean inside and needs a screw on each side emblemSeat is dry but seat pan is in great shape. One of the frame/seat stays on the frame is broken/missingThe speedo/headlamp is dented and glass is crackedChain is rusted and no good, tires are shot, and suspension needs rebuiltNo fenders, side covers, keys, turn signals, or drivers pegsPlease remember it is a BARN FIND and needs restorationTHE STORY OF THE BIKE: The bike was purchased in California in 1965 and ridden to West Texas where it spent its life being raced by a local young man. It was parked in 1971 (I have the original license plate). The original owner (now an elderly gentleman) saw the bike last week and gave the story: It was his brothers bike in the 60's and he would "steal"/borrow it and take it racing. He deleted the starter, installed some flipped peashooters, and lighted the bike the best he could to win races and go fast. He built the one off air cleaners and tossed the side covers and fenders to save on weight. The bike was parked in the early 1970s by his brother (tired of his little brother "borrowing" it). At some point, someone else installed a CL72 steering head and front end. I DO NOT know what happened to the original head or paperwork. I would think that someone sold the head and paperwork? This bike truly is a piece of history and has quite a story to tell. NO TITLE. I will provide a bill-of-sale Please study all pictures closely and feel free to ask any questions. Email with any questions you may have. Please study the pictures closely. What you see in the pictures it what you will receive. Sold as is. I will sell international. It is the responsibility of the buyer to arrange shipping and pick up. I can help with the loading of the bike and I will provide a bill-of-sale.
