It has undergone a full frame up restore which I will detail below. The restore touched every nut, bolt and part on the motorcycle. The engine was in fine running shape with exception of the carburetors which is typical for vintage bikes. All work was done by a professional restorer and Honda parts were used with a few exceptions as noted below. In the process of restoration, a few enhancements were done based on knowledge of these older machines to improve the functionality as long as it didn’t affect the appearance. And, of course modern paint, powder coating, fastener rust protection and refinishing techniques were used to improve the final finished product as these were not available 50 years ago. The bike has been completely tuned, and everything works as new. The new OEM carburetors runs considerable better than the original 50-year-old carburetors and reduce the cold startup behavior quite a bit. The starter and horn work excellent. Restoration Work: · All components disassembled, cleaned, repainted or powder coated, polished, or replaced · Engine compression tested, internally cleaned (especially sump, oil filter), valves, ignition timing set, gaskets replaced (Heads, cylinder not removed, nor cases split) · All bushings, bearings were cleaned of 50 yr old grease and lubricated · With very few exceptions all rubber bushings and rubber components were replaced with factory originals first and then reproduction rubber if not. · New OEM Carburetors were installed, and the originals go with the bike. · All Tires, tubes, rims, spokes, battery, chain, cables and other wear components were replaced · Complete tune-up, fires right up with electric starter or kick · Seat was recovered as original and foam replaced. The seat is now way more comfortable than original. · Fork tubes were replaced with New Honda units and all seals and fluids replaced. · All electrical connections cleaned and protected- no modifications to original harness · Bodywork professionally painted with 2-part catalyzed paint primer/base coat/clear coat · Most fasteners replaced with new and better-quality fasteners · The exhaust pipes are original and have no holes in them, but were left with some patina on them in lieu of re-chroming. · The hard to find rear fender rubber pad along with a brand new original owners manual.
