Vehicle Detail

LOW RESERVE Very solid and great looking real 1978 Pontiac Trans Am. VIN 2W87Z... Please note someone removed the 4 speed and swapped in an automatic. Clutch pedal still installed. Runs, drives, and stops but I have never driven it on the road. Decent unrestored T/A project. Keep Pontiac powered or drop in LS with a 6 speed. OEM Chesterfield Brown paint. The rockers, frame rails, and quarter panels are solid. Road salt was not used in the Northwest and there is no road salt damage. This is a hard to find factory 4 speed model. Pontiac 400, non-numbers matching. Smokes heavily at 4000-4500 RPM's. May need head gaskets or an overhaul. 6X-8 heads. 3.23 Posi This 40 year old unrestored T/A is not rusted-out. Please review photos. Quarter panels are solid. I did not locate any rust issues on floor pans or trunk pan. Someone cut and rolled back the trunk pan to access the fuel gauge. This has been flattened and sealed up with bondo. There is a dent between passenger door and wheel well. The only rust issue I have found on this T/A is on the dented front fender. There is normal surface rust underneath the car. The hood is solid and opens and closes easily. The doors close easily and nicely without hinge sag. Odometer reads 89K. Working Power Windows. Power door locks need work. Interior is decent. Nice deluxe front seats. The headliner is good with minimal sag. The Speedo, Tach, & volt meter work. The clock on the tach works. The fuel, oil pressure, and water temperature gauges are not working - fuel gauge may be a ground issue, and temp gauge not hooked-up. There is an aftermarket water temp gauge installed. Dash has multiple cracks. T/A has hard to find factory intermittent wiper set-up and it is operational. Interior was converted from tan to black. The black seats did not come with the car from factory. Front has been lowered for better handling. Snowflakes are two sets of slightly different styles. Driver's rear tire does not hold air. I will place this snowflake and tire in car and sell with steel rim spare. The tires on the car are very old. Message me with questions. You may send someone to inspect the T/A. I bought the car 3 years ago. Sold as-is without any warranty express or implied. There are no warranties of merchantability or fitness of use. $250 deposit due immediately by winning bid. Balance to be paid with Wells Fargo or USBancorp (US Bank) cashier's check. No exceptions. You can purchase a cashier's check from Wells Fargo if you do not bank with them.On Mar-21-18 at 16:54:14 PDT, seller added the following information: I want to add that the repair to where the trunk pan was cut and rolled is not pretty. If it is kept covered it is not an issue. Also the car is hard to start sometimes after it has been running. It has a strong 2 year old large battery that easily started a 1970 GTO. This Trans Am is a super solid project car as the photos show. I really like the car but I have too many other projects. Title is in my name.
