This is a long time sitting 1958 Volvo Duett.. The stock B16 engine turns over by hand no problem. The carbs are free and move nicely. I think this will be an easy car to get up and running after going thru the fluids, belts, hoses, tuneup, brakes,hydraulics and so on.But it looks like most everything is there.Including the ignition and key. Everything looks stock and unplayed with . The body is original, clean and nice. Very solid rustfree floorboards,rockers frame,etc., A little on the right rear wheel well opening.But not rusted below that at the turn to the rocker into the floorboard.And a shallow dent in that lower quarter panel. The rest of the sheetmetal is pretty nice. Has dents and damage here and there but nothing serious. Probably the worst is dent on front left at driver side grille opening.Grille dented there.. I thought the front floorboards had rust thru at the edge of the tranny tunnel on both sides. But after pulling the rubber floor mats, I realized they were both just cut or drilled holes to access the tranny mount below.There is thick.old undercoating on the floors and frame but everything is as nice and solid as possible.Where the undercoating is missing on the floors and frame,the metal is nice clean and factory painted.No cookie sheets,old highway signs or other neato rust repair techniques. Only old school Swedish metal the same way it left the factory. Front bumper dented. Missing stock rear tail lenses. Stock original interior that will need to be gone thru. Headliner,door panels, seats,carpet etc. The wood on the floor looks like it can be finished off with some work. These are neat wagons. Built like tanks. Run forever. Great old cars. This will be a great one to work on thru the Winter and have it on the road by spring. This wagon needs work. You can not drive it now. It will not run now. But most everything is there to get it going again. These are getting harder and harder to find. Especially with such a solid base as this one has. At the risk of being drawn and quartered by the purist crowd, this would be a great base to put newer drivetrain,suspension etc in and bring it at least into the 21th century. If you have ideas like that, this would be the perfect platform to start with. Straight clean Arizona title in my name.
